Still factory sealed and with a 'Near Mint' condition box. This is the 1979 issue with the shorter 1.25" high box. It is a very finely molded kit with markings for the 'High Hat' Squadron from CV-3 Saratoga in the 1930s.

Still factory sealed. This 1979 issue is a finely detailed kit of the classic US Biplane fighter of the 1930s. P-6 variants were in production for 10 years, a remarkable feat in a time when airframe/power plant technology was changing rapidly. Includes colorful markings from the 17th Pursuit Squadron in early 1930s, based at Selfridge Field, Michigan.

1973 White Box reissue of the famous 'Four Star' kit from 1963. Many action features; wings fold, landing gear and tail wheel retract and all gear doors close, working arresting gear and turning wheels and prop. Molded in dark blue, black and clear. Never started. Inventoried with all parts, decals and instructions present. NOTE: decals are complete and intact, but several are starting to lift and some age the usual age micro-cracking. If you are building this model, be prepared to supply your own decals.

Very finely molded and detailed 1/48 scale model featuring detailed cockpit and gear wells, choice of two canopy styles and more. The decals are for Col. Howard, who was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. He was an AVG pilot and became the first US pilot to become an ace in both the Pacific and European theaters.

1974 Tall Box first issue that is in rare factory-sealed condition. This release has the very desirable and superb diorama instructions showing you how to make a ditched TBD at the Battle of Midway in WWII. This is a very highly detailed kit with complete interior, folding wings, elevating and rotating tail gun, working propeller and arresting gear, optional position gun compartment doors & canopy, optional parts for bomber or torpedo versions and more. Includes markings for three aircraft including the yellow-winged pre war versions and Torpedo 8 from the Battle of Midway.

The 'Tall' box issue dated 1973 that includes the Mattel logo on the two long sides and the extended part number. An excellent kit for that time, it builds any of four versions including 2-Seat Night Fighter, day fighter, 'Droop Snoot' with bomber nose and F5 photo recon version. Molded in silver, black and clear. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. Please NOTE that the decals are flat and 100% intact have age micro-cracking. Please see the two articles (located on this website) on how to save and restore old decals.

Features retracting landing gear, rotating wheels/props, three man crew, optional position door and two survivors in life rafts. The Albatross was the primary sea rescue aircraft of the Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Service, a branch of MAC - Military Airlift Command. Operational service began in 1947 and Hu-16s saw wartime action in Vietnam.

2nd issue of this kit with the 'Blue Box' dated 1967. Very highly detailed. The kit has many action features: When you pull the prop outward and rotate it CCW, the landing gear retracts. Pull it outward and rotate it CW, and the gear extends. Push the prop in, and it freewheels as normal. Kit features a movable control surfaces, highly detailed cockpit, full decals, sliding canopy and instructions for rigging. Never started. Inventoried and NOTE: missing one tiny, easy to make part: (1) #6. This is a very small round part with a hole in the middle. Otherwise complete with all other parts, decals and instructions present.
