Small scale ship kit from the Table Top Navy series that are very well molded for their time. Can be built full hull or waterline and features propeller and shaft detail, separately molded island and other deck details and more. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. Many of the Pyro kits came from Eagle (then Eaglewall) molds in England. Eaglewall went out of business around 1962 and Pyro acquired at least some of the molds. Pyro reissued some of these kits in the mid 1960s with AJ Rudisill artwork. Evidently the line was successful, as Pyro then cut some of their own molds and expanded the series significantly. The earlier issues have the full color artwork and a three digit part number. Later issues have a 'B' or 'C' in front of the three digit kit number; some have simplified box art that is a modification of the original Rudisill paintings by painting out most of the background. Pyro issued these kits into the late 1960 when Life-Like took over the molds. Some were reissued by Life-Like.

1967 Pyro issue from original molds. In the early to mid 1960s the Pyro company chose many of it's kit subjects based more on historical significance than popularity. Luckily for us, Pyro did this and also did an excellent job for the time. This Pyro car model is based on the Model 30 that was on display in the Auto Aviation Museum in Cleveland, Ohio that Pyro engineers and designers had access to. The model includes rubber tires, brass plated parts, colored injection molded parts and clear parts. Features detailed chassis, complete motor and interior and a removable hood or 'bonnet.' Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions.

Rare hardbox issue from the mid 1960s. Very large and highly detailed model measures over 21 inches long when assembled. The Natchez was the famous rival of the Robert E Lee. The race between the two is considered a classic tale of The River. Although the Lee won, the circumstances were suspect and many people still considered the Natchez the fastest paddle-wheel packet ever. (For example, the Lee carried no payload and the Natchez was carrying passengers and a normal payload.) Molded in high-gloss tan, burgundy, green and gray plastic. All details of the real ship, including the wooden railings and carvings are duplicated. Includes full rigging instructions and thread. Never started. All the parts that were originally factory sealed are still in the factory sealed bags; the few parts that Pyro did not seal (paddles, hull and large deck parts) have been inventoried complete. With instructions, decals and flag sheet. Please note that while the box has heavy moisture/water damage, the decals, flag sheet and instructions (as well as all plastic parts) escaped damage and are 'excellent.'

Pyro Gertrude L Thebaud Fishing Schooner, 206-298

Rare early issue from Pyro, likely from the very late 1950s. The excellent box painting was by Howard E. Arnold. This is a very good model of the famous fishing schooner that was built by Louis G. Thebaud and christened by his wife Gertrude. After being initially defeated by the Bluenose, the Thebaud won the Sir Thomas Lipton Trophy in 1930 in a hard-fought contest with her rival. The contest is still disputed to this day. Nicely detailed for that time and measures 20 inches long when built. Features 125 parts, full hull with display stand, deck fittings, rigging material and full rigging instructions. Molded in black and dark wood swirl plastics. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. NOTE: this is a tiny short shot on the port side of the forwards bow. It is easily repairable and measures about 1/8 x 1/16 inches.

From the late 1950s. Rare, early original Pyro issue with large colorful box and internal blue packing inserts. Very nicely detailed for that time and measures 13.5 inches long when assembled. Includes crew members and rigging material. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes instructions. Please note, this very early issue was not made with decals. The box is intact but has wear and the hole at left as shown. Despatch No.9 was built by the Tampa Marine Corporation in Florida in 1945 for the fleet of tugs operated by Standard Oil of California in Sacramento Bay and the San Joaquin River.

Still factory sealed. This is a 1960s issue with AJ Rudisill artwork. There is no scale listed, but the kit is roughly 8-9 inches long when assembled. This is one of the 'intermediate' line of Pyro ship kits, which in 1967 Pyro called '$1.25 Models'. All were roughly the same size and were a significant increase in detail from the '75 Cent Models'. Kits in the $1.25 line in '67 included the Skipjack, Cutty Sark, Charles W. Morgan, HMS Bounty, HMS Ark Royal, USS Constellation, British Bomb Ketch, Chinese War Junk, Elsie - Gloucester Fisherman, Henri Grace A'Dieu, Dutch Staten Jacht, Gotta Le Jon and others. 75 Cent kits in 1967 included the Mayflower, Barbary Pirate, USS Constitution, Santa Maria, Golden Hind, Half Moon, Bon Homme Richard, Brig of War, HMS Victory, Flying Cloud, Nina, Pinta, Santa Maria, La Reale French Galley, Venetian Carrack, Roman Merchant, Spanish Galeon and others.

Rare early issue from Pyro, likely from the late 1950s or very early 1960s. Wonderful kit of the famous schooner that would race between New York and Bermuda. Very nicely detailed and includes billowing sails, standing and running rigging material and full rigging instructions. Measures about 19 inches long when built. NOTE: this kit has very minor and neat assembly: 3 eyelets are glued to the hull. There is no other assembly. NOTE: the hull below the waterline only is painted green. There is one coat and the quality is only 'good.' there is no other painting. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, thread and instructions present.

Late 1950s or early 1960s issue in very good condition. The excellent artwork is by A.V. Rudisill who did a large number of box paintings for Pyro. Features over 360 parts and measures 22 inches long when assembled. Very large and well detailed model for that time and still widely built today. The details of the real ship are well duplicated, including the railings and carvings. Molded in gloss white and tan plastic. The kit has never been started. Inside it is exactly as it left the factory. All of the parts that were factory sealed are still in the factory sealed clear bags. The few trees and large parts never factory sealed have been inventoried complete. Includes colorful flag sheet and instructions.

Very rare. Pyro's first ship kits were the BB Missouri, CA Chicago, CV Shangri-La and DD Sumner in the early 1950s. The one-piece box is complete but has wear as shown and a closed tear on one long side. It is molded in dark gray and black plastic. The scale is not listed, but the built model is about 12 inches long. NOTE: the main turrets have been snapped (not glued) in to the deck. There is no other assembly. NOTE: missing display stand. Otherwise inventoried with all other parts and instructions. Please note that the three larger ships all came in the same box. Pyro placed the kit contents on the side of the box.
