Classic Cold War East German model of this large Soviet helicopter with a unique gondola below the cockpit for the crane operator. It is very nice kit for a KVZ kit with good detail. Molded in white, silver, clear and black plastic and includes full color large decal sheet with Aeroflot markings. Never started. The actual helicopter has been inventoried complete with all parts, decals and instructions present but NOTE: missing display stand. KVZ was the logo used by this East German kit manufacturer from 1969 to 1973. During this time, some fantastic Cold War kits were produced of Russian Aeroflot Airliners and Military Helicopters and Aircraft.

First issue dated 1962 with fantastic John Steel hardbox artwork. Please note the correct 'Famous Fighters in the border of the Aurora Sunburst logo and the 49 cent price extension. This is the rarest of all issues as it was only one year; in 1963 Aurora dropped the 'Famous Fighters' in the border. Molded in correct gloss dark blue and clear & includes the Aurora 'Triangle' base two-piece clear stand. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions, both of which are in 'excellent' condition;.

Rare and still the only injection molded kit ever made of this aircraft in 1/72 scale. Features fine, recessed panel line detail. Never started. Factory sealed bag complete with decals and instructions. This is the 16-cylinder, 490 mph Super Thunderbolt. This radical craft was designed to test the Chrysler XIV-2220-1 liquid-cooled inverted 'V-16' engine. Two P-47D airframes were set aside for modification by Republic at Evansville under subcontract to Chrysler. The airframe was redesigned from the firewall forward and under the belly from the nose to the radiator to a point aft of the rear gas tank. A GE CH5 Turbo Supercharger was installed in the lower rear fuselage. Final drive was through a 14 foot diameter Curtiss propeller. Many problems were encountered with the engine, so the aircraft did not fly till after the war in Europe on July 26th, 1945. Twenty-seven test flights were made including one at 30,000 ft that reached 490 mph.
