Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: Exc
$169
Very rare, true first issue from 1955 in the correct Pre-S hardbox. The amazing artwork is by Richard Kishady. This is the true first issue because it includes the rare one-piece stand arm and correctly show it in the instructions also. This stand arm was weak and Revell quickly replaced it with the two-piece version. This kit features detailed cockpit and two pilots, rotating main and tail rotors, detailed engine and optional position clam-shell nose doors. Molded in the correct high-gloss dark olive drab and clear and with the famous 'New Revelving Swivel Base." Never started. All of the small parts are still in the factory sealed parts bag; the few large parts that were never sealed have been inventoried complete. Includes decals and instructions. The decals are perfectly flat, 100% intact and in 'excellent' condition with some age yellowing as the only flaw. The instructions are in 'near mint' condition. The box has brilliant color & gloss, four solid corners, no stains, tear, missing litho or price tags & tape (other than the factory sealing tape. The flaws are very light creasing and slight edge wear.

Features full suspension, rear shelves, back fold-down deck, coffee pot, pot, lamp, bell, accessories, two horses, calf, dog, two men and more. Inside, the kit as it left the factory. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed 'krinkle' bag and includes instructions. 'Miniature Masterpieces' was formed through an alliance of Lew Glaser (Revell) and Steve Adams (Adams Action Models) in 1953. Although the molds were made at Adams and it had the appearance of an independent company, the firm was run by Revell down to the prototypes being made at the Revell plant. Originally there was no evidence of the parent company on the surface. The State Coach of England was the first kit - without figures and horses, issued in 1953. More kits of excellent quality followed. Revell completely took over the line in 1954 and in that year and the next, kits were labeled 'Revell' with a 'Miniature Masterpiece' label on the box top also. 1954 advertisements from Revell list the complete line as the H506 State Coach of England, H510 Ranch Wagon, H503 Covered Wagon, H502 Marquis de Lafayette Carriage, H504 Roman Racing Chariot, H501 Wells Fargo Stage Coach, H509 Western Figures and H507 Chuck Wagon.

Wood Model Kit, Box Condition: Good+
$28
From the 1940s. This model features 3D factory-cut hardwood fuselage, 3D factory cut wings, 2D (Profile) cut horizontal and vertical stabilizer, finished main and tail wheels, spinner block, printwood, dowels, full color RAF insignia, sandpaper, plans with profile sections and more. Maircraft was originally founded in the early or mid 1930s by Gordon Christoph and went by the name Aircraft Model Company. The company produced a typical line of solid 'profile cut' kits that required the usual high talent levels for carving and finishing. A former Comet Model Airplane & Supply Co. salesman, Jack Mair, bought the company in the early 1940s and renamed it Maircraft. This company was one of the handful of solid kit producers who issued models in a consistent 1/48 scale during the 1930s and 1940s (others included Hawk and Dyna-Model). This lead to one of the most desirable and rare model kits ever produced in the USA - the wood/plastic 1/48 United DC-3 model issued immediately after World War 2. Other than the P-61 and a few other Maircraft offerings, most were simple kits that sold for the low price of about 35 cents and gave the owners many hours of pleasurable work.
