One of the 'Holy Grails' of 1950s Space Kits and in exceptional condition inside and out. This is the 1957 first and only issue 'S' Kit with fantastic box art. Features detailed manned top stage with full interior, removable top, opening hatch, spaceship and ground crew members and detailed working launch pad. The main stages and boosters snap apart to recreate all phases of the flight from Earth takeoff, Lunar Landing and Return to Earth. The included 'XSL-01 Operations Manual' outlines in words and illustrations each phase of the spaceship's trip. Molded in the correct gloss orange, silver, gloss metallic blue and clear. Never started. All internal factory cardboard presentation material is present and excellent. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. Instructions and Operations manual booklet are both in 'excellent' condition. The decals perfectly flat, 100% intact and graded 'excellent' with age yellowing as the only flaw. The box is graded 'excellent+' and features factory-new color and gloss, four solid corners, no repairs, no rips, fading or stains, no creases, no price tags or marks from tags and no tape or tape marks (other than the factory sealing tape). The only flaws are very minor wear as shown, some corner wear and a small sliver of litho damage measuring 1/2" long by 1/16" wide on the right long side. Shipping insurance is required on this kit.

Very rare promotional model of the 'Safeguard' ABM Missile Spartan. The Sprint and Spartan pair made up the missiles of this Anti-Ballistic Missile system with Spartan handling the longer ranges. The system was made operational on October 1 1975 and Congress voted to shut it down less than 24 hours later on October 2 1975. Condition is exceptional. Missile is NM with a tiny chip out of one fin and very slight wear. The base is NM also. Missile measures 17 inches long. There are no touch ups/repair and no cracks. Decal is near mint also on base. Base says 'Spartan - McDonnell Douglas - McDonnell Douglas Astronautics Company'. Insurance required on shipping. NOTE: This model was issued with two bases. One had two pins to hold the missile. The other is the cradle pictured. This missile has the two pin holes - so it was either left over stock and put on the new base or found it's way to the newer base over the years.

Hardbox issue dated 1965. The flaws in the Lockheed Electra airliner ensured that it had a short service life in commercial service. But the sound design was modified into one of the most successful and long-serving of all ASW aircraft - the Orion. Revell seized upon this opportunity to recoup some of the money sunk into the Electra molds and they were modified to make this kit, the 'A' version of this venerable patrol aircraft. Features MAD boom, correct fuselage shape and blisters, optional position landing gear, opened or closed cabin door, movable wheels & propeller and more. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.
Wood Model Kit, Box Condition: VG

This large model is 35.5" long and has a 71" wingspan. This is one of the famous Sal Taibi's National award winning designs for use with 'hot' engines .15 to .29 displacement. Sal was one of the early 'Kings Of Gas Free Flight' and a very gifted designer. Feature high quality balsa and plywood parts, spar and strip wood, metal stock as required, aluminum motor mount, hardware and excellent full size plans. Never started and inside it is in factory-new condition. The small parts are still in the factory sealed clear bag; the other parts have been inventoried complete with the plans. NOTE: this kit was shipped in the very sturdy box shown. Unless you specify otherwise, we will send it wrapped in brown paper. If you wish to have it boxed, extra postage will apply. Designed for 'Sniffing Thermals,' the honored pastime of a generation of model enthusiasts. Flying model aircraft predated powered flight; however, balsa wood and printwood were not introduced until the early 1930s and the hobby took off, as well as the hunt for thermals. Gas flight began in the early 1930s, and powered models (most all driven by Brown engines) took home so many awards that they were forever separated in competition from rubber powered models. Design of gas models was tricky since RC (radio control) models could not yet be applied to the mass market; so a gas model had to not only fly and climb under power, but then glide sufficiently - all in a stable fashion and without any operator inputs once the airplane took off.
