1970s issue of this quality Airfix model issued by MPC in the popular Profile Series line with markings for three aircraft: 466 BG, 8th AF - 98 BG, 15th AF and RAF 356 Sqdn, SEAC. This was a well detailed model for that time featuring elevating guns and rotating turrets, movable control surfaces, retractable landing gear, crew members, rotating propellers and wheels, optional position crew entry door & ladder and more. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. The decals are in remarkable 'near mint+' condition, which is rare for 1970s MPC kits.

From 1980 and probably the first issue. Has parts and decals for all three variants from 102(B) RAF Sq. 1938, No. 99 Sq 1934 and No. 7(B) Sq. 1935. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The Heyford was the last big biplane bomber to serve with the RAF and equipped 11 First-Line Squadrons at the time. The prototype first few in 1930 and had many novel features such as retractable ventral turret and the wing attached to the underside of the top wing for excellent visibility. It was soon nicknamed 'Express Bomber' due to the ability to carry a large bomb load, fly at high speeds and be rapidly re-armed, serviced and repaired.

Very well molded and detailed model with 168 pieces, full one-piece hull, complete propeller & rudder detail, extensive and finely molded deck fittings and more. Includes a display stand. This is not the motorized version; but you can see all of the provisions in the hull for the motor, batteries and drive. If you are handy and have the equipment, it could be motorized.

This model kit features optional parts for the -5 and -5N versions, very fine all-recessed panel lines, good full cockpit, two-piece optional position canopy, detailed twin-row radial engine, enclosed & detailed landing gear bays, -5N radome, twin drop tanks, iron bombs, 5" HVAR rockets and more. Includes a detailed, multi-view paint guide and decals for US Navy VC-3 F4U-5N. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. Near the end of the Korean War, the ground troops were harassed almost nightly by "Bedcheck Charlie", which was usually a North Korean Yak or Lagg. There night intruders were out to destroy sleep and moral. Initially they seemed unstoppable as the jets, like the F-94, were too fast to shoot them down. The solution was to detach a small number of F4U-5N night fighter Corsairs from their carrier duty and assign them to the USAF. It only took three missions in less than a month for Lt. Guy Bordelon to shoot down five of these nuisance bombers, thereby earning him the unique position of being the only US Navy Ace to emerge from the Korean War. The box has a very light water stain but the decals and instructions are in 'mint' condition.
