And any decal reinforced with cardboard will be equal to or greater than 1/4" thick, which USPS says must go at the normal 'box' rate. There is no choice; because I will not knowingly send decals to destruction, they will only ship in a box. So to eliminate or save significantly on shipping charges, please order them with model kits. Likewise, if you only purchase decals, try to order enough decals make the shipping cost (per sheet) worth while.

Very rare and historical piece from the CF-105 program weapons subcontractor, Douglas-Bendix. The Sparrow II was to be the weapons system for the supersonic CF-105 Arrow interceptor; please note the "R.C.A.F." on the body and Roundel on the fin. However, major problems prevented the Sparrow II from ever seeing operational service and played a small roll in the demise of the Arrow. Other systems were more expensive or less effective. The AWG-9 was offered, but was too costly. The Falcon was offered (and originally planned), but was not adequate. Thus this beautiful and capable aircraft was without a weapons system, which contributed to the ultimate cancellation. This very rare display model was made by Precise as a promotional item for Douglas and Bendix (the two main contractors). The missile is 6.5 inches long as is the clear base. It comes in the original shipping box with a two-sided information card on the missile. Condition is near mint - it has only been taken out of the box twice. Base upright reads 'Douglas Bendix Sparrow II'. No touch ups/repairs or cracks. Insurance required on shipping.

1957 first and only issue of this rare Monogram Gift set. While Revell was very prolific with gift sets in the 1950s, Monogram was very restrained, issuing very few and then only once. This hardbox is in very solid condition with no fading, stains or split corners. There is edge wear that account for the 'VG' box rating. Inside, the kit has the correct cardboard divider. The DC-3 is 1/90 scale and features optional position cabin door, rotating propellers and wheels, pilot, copilot, hostess and passenger figures and colorful TWA decals. The Super G Constellation is 1/131 scale and features two hostesses, two loading ramps, tip tanks, battery truck and full TWA decals. The models have not been started. Both models are inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

Includes the following factory-sealed aftermarket sets: True Details 48811 Mosquito Mk.VK Cockpit Detail Set (designed for this kit), Squadron #9532 Crystal Clear Canopies for 1/48 Mosquito FBVI (2 canopies included) and True Details 48093 1/48 Mosquito Resin Wheel Set (early style block tread). The actual kit is the 1973 release. It is well detailed and molded from the original 1960s 'Four Star' molds. Features all parts and decals required to build one of four variants: NF II Night Fighter, MK. IV Day Bomber, FB VI Fighter Bomber and Mosquito II Night Intruder. Also includes detailed cockpit, crew of two, detailed bomb bay with bomb load, optional position bomb bay doors, retracted or extended landing gear, rotating wheels & propellers, slipper tanks, external bomb & rocket load and more. Very rare 1950s gift set. Long before injection molded kit were mass produced in the USA, Monogram created what are widely considered the finest pre-fabricated wooden kits with plastic details. The Speedee-Bilt series were flying models with pre-painted and cut wooden parts with plastic props, cowls, pilots, etc. The Superkits were smaller static models with precarved wooden parts and many plastic details. The kits themselves are rare today, but the gift set is very rare. Monogram issued very few gift sets for injection kits, and even fewer in the early 1950s for the wooden kits. The gift set consists of a special 'Christmas' box with a tray and lift-off top with a cello window. This one contains 2 Superkits (F-84 Thunderjet and F-51 Mustang) and 2 Speedee-Bilts (also the F-84 and F-51). The outer box is intact with the original cello and is in 'very good' displayable condition but is not perfect. It has edge wear, general wear, light staining (visible at the upper left) and two closed split corners. The four kits inside are in mint boxes and have never started. Each is 100% inventoried complete with all parts,decals and instructions present.

From 1956 - the first and only issue of this rare holiday season gift set. Contains the A-4D Skyhawk and HRS-1 both with US Marine markings. The box has excellent color and gloss, four solid corners and no tape, price tags, torn or missing litho. However, it has the typical 'cross hatch' marks from the original ribbon that Revell shipped these kits with as well as heavy ribbon marks along the top as shown; there is also moderate wear on the top long side. Inside, the HRS-1 is molded in the correct dark blue plastic and the famous clear Revell base and correct Marines decals for this this issue. The A-4 is molded in the correct medium gray with the clear base and correct and colorful Marines markings for this kit. The instructions are correct also and show these unique decals on the models. The kits have never been started. Both are still in the factory sealed internal bags and include decals and instructions in excellent condition.

Very rare kit dated 1958. The superb box art was painted by Monaghan, who did all of the Aurora Indy 500 winners. This kit is from Best molds. Aurora purchased these molds just for the Indianapolis 500 Winners and then made only one issue. Molded in a beautiful gloss blue & with rubber tires, spoke wheels, crew of two and some interior detail. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Even the original factory tissue packing paper is present. Decals and instructions are both 'excellent++' condition. This famous car is directly tied to one of racings greatest names, Louis Chevrolet. Louis and his brother He and his brother Arthur came to American in about 1905 and immediately began racing; Louis alone won 10 National Championship races between 1909 and 1919. Louis and Arthur joined forces with William Crapo 'Billy' Durant to form the Chevrolet Car Company in 1911. However, few people got along with Durant and the Chevrolet brothers were no exception. By 1915 they had sold their stock and moved on to Indianapolis. They immediately went back into racing and built their own cars. However, they were not allowed to use the Chevrolet name. The unofficial Chevrolet team was the first to achieve consecutive Indianapolis 500 wins. The first is this kit, the 1920 Monroe Special driven by younger brother Gaston Chevrolet and in 1921 in a Frontenac Special driven by Tommy Milton.

Rare 1960s issue retaining the same artwork as the 1956 issue. The hardbox is in amazing 'Excellent++' condition which is rare. This kit has arguably the most dramatic and fanciful B-29 artwork from the 'Golden Era' of modeling. Never started. Inventoried an the actual aircraft is complete with the decals and instructions but NOTE: missing the display stand. Responding to market information that boys wanted larger kits, Aurora introduced the B-26 followed by the B-29 and B-25, all of which sold well for many years. This is likely the 4th issue. I believe the 3rd issue is almost identical but has "Famous Fighters" in the oval logo. That would date this kit as 1963 and up till the 'Big A' box issue. Note the square 'Northern Lights' logo has been replaced with the Aurora sunburst oval logo.
