Very rare, original 1950s S Issue hardbox kit in excellent condition. Not the 1990s reissue. Very nicely detailed and molded for that time featuring moving cranes and guns, primary and secondary (AA) armament, detailed superstructure, complete deck fittings, hanger bay, detailed Martin PBM-5 Mariner Seaplane and more. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals, color flag sheet and instructions present. Decals and instructions are both in remarkable 'excellent++' condition with typical age yellowing being the only significant flaw. The Norton Sound molds were modified to create this kit, making any reissue of the Norton Sound impossible.

This is a nice model that was well detailed for that time featuring a one-piece hull, detailed deck and superstructure, separately molded and moving main armament, Terrier missiles, launcher and directors and more. Never started and inventoried 1005 complete with all parts and includes decals, color flag sheet and instructions. The USS Boston, originally CA-69 (Baltimore Class Heavy Cruiser) was converted to the world's first Guided Missile Cruiser in 1952.

Still factory sealed and rare in this condition. 1960s 'Red' issue that is part of this famous line. Frog is the father of all injection molded plastic kits, which were called "FROG Penguin" because they did not fly. A significant variety were issued well before WWII and after the war, Frog picked up where they left off. The model is well molded with fine panel line detail and unrealistic surface detail. Features separately molded ailerons, elevators, rudder, crew of two, rotating propeller, torpedo loadout and more. Frog, like Airfix, would tape seal 1960s kits then put on a clear cello seal over that. Using magnification, you can see that this kit is still factory tape sealed under the clear seal.

First release 1953 hardbox pre 'S' kit and the first ship model that Revell cut their own molds for. Earlier Revell ship releases were very small scale sailing shps from ex-Gowland & Gowland molds. This kit was so popular for so long that many believe it was Revell's best selling ship model of all time. Inside, the kit is molded in the correct gloss medium gray plastic. It has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including all parts, the original small parts 'krinkle' bag (torn open), flag sheet and instructions. The early style flag sheet is in amazing 'near mint' condition and the instructions are the correct very large format for this issue and in 'excellent' condition. Please note that Revell did not furnish decals with this issue.

Wood Model Kit, Box Condition: Fair++

1950s issue flying model with the box art showing a Coke next to the young builders snack plate and finished product. Kit features traditional wood/tissue construction with 3 big sheets of high quality printwood, factory-cut stripwood & spars, wood stock as required, fully formed wheels, covering tissue, fully formed metal propeller shaft/rubber hook, fully formed hardwood thrust button, rubber motor, factory-carved balsa wood propeller (needs final sanding) and detailed full size plans that include building instructions, canopy frames and templates for fairings, insignia, etc. The model has not been started. Inventoried complete. The box is complete and has great color, but it is graded 'fair++' because it has heavy wear and a short closed tear. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.

Still factory sealed but the seal has a few splits on the box top as shown. The Great Western was the first ship specifically built for the Atlantic Ferry Service and was designed by I.K. Brunel (who designed the Great Eastern). When launched in 1837, she carried 120 first class, 20 second class, and beds could be set up for an additional 100 if needed. The crew was 60 men. The first crossing of the Atlantic Ocean was in April of 1838 and took just over 15 days. After crossing the Atlantic 64 times, she ran for 10 years between Southampton and the West Indies before being broken up in 1857. The kit is the large scale Airfix Japan issue; it is well detailed and features full hull, complete deck fittings, ships boats, preformed rat lines, detailed paddle wheels, billowing sails and much more.
