Still factory tape sealed and from 1984. If you have ever wondered how to build an authentic ship in a real glass bottle, this is an excellent starter kit. The instructions carefully document the techniques from the 1800s and de-mystify the process. This is a very complete kit that features a real glass bottle with a factory-carved wooden base, hardwood ship's hull that is factory cut and about 30% precarved, hardwood dowels and wood stock as required for deck houses, masts, yards etc., rigging thread, sail cloth, metal hardware, cork for the bottle, a sticker with the ship's name and date (for the display base and more. Includes very detailed and comprehensive step-by-step text and illustrated building instructions all the way up to 'dressing the bottle opening' as a finishing touch.
