Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

Features three stage reconnaissance rocket with base, launcher, service tower, television nose cone, separating stages and three figures. It is molded in the correct red and Good Humor 'Creamsicle' orange. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Please note that the box displays 'Excellent++' but is graded as 'Excellent' because there is a crease on the lower short side panel.

Planet Models Focke-Wulf Entwurf B 3x1000, 1/72, 047

Resin Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

Focke-Wulf Entwurf B 3x1000

$38

A superb kit from 1998 that features high-definition resin pieces, very good cockpit, mint condition & perfectly clear (not yellowed) canopy, enclosed wheel wells, full decals and more. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. Focke-Wulf performed three different projects, known as A, B and C for medium bombers with a payload of 1000kg of bombs, a range of 1000km and a speed of 1000km/h; hence the nickname '3x1000' for these designs. There was no armament, the speed being more than enough defense for the time. Project B (this model) was a tail-less flying wing, with a swept back leading edge of 45 degrees. It was to be powered by two He S 011 turbojets, each with 1300 kg of thrust. The engines were mounted in the wing roots and either side of the cockpit. The trailing edges of the outer wing sections were swept at about 25 degrees. The vertical control surfaces were at the wing tips and positioned straight down.

Monogram B-26 Invader - Four Star Issue / True Second Issue, 1/67, P6-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

B-26 Invader - Four Star Issue / True Second Issue

$79

Rare, true second issue from 1955. Few people (including me) knew that there was a second release of P6-98 that varied significantly from the first issue. The true first issue has a part number of 'P6-98', early 'Four Star Plastikit' logo, black rubber main gear tires and no support peg to keep it from being a 'tail sitter' when assembled. The second issue (this kit) has the same part number, identical 'Four Star Plastikit' logo but has regular injection molded (silver) tires and a peg to keep the nose gear grounded. The instructions show these changes are are numbered P6, as are the decals. Molded in correct gloss silver and clear plastic. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. (In the past it was believed that the second issue was 'PA6-98' with a modified box top logo. This is now known to be the third issue.)

Aurora P-38 Lightning Brooklyn - Famous Fighters of All Nations, 1/48, 99-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

P-38 Lightning Brooklyn - Famous Fighters of All Nations

$200

Very rare first issue Brooklyn kit from the early 1950. Molded in the correct light blue with little surface detail and no mass balances, pitot tube or landing gear struts, wheels and doors. Includes the correct rectangular clear stand for this issue. Decals and instructions are in excellent condition. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. The Aurora issues of the 1/48 scale P-38 are interesting to say the least. The first issue is the Brooklyn kit with the P-38/B-24 box artwork. Inside, the plastic is light blue with minimal surface detail and a clear canopy and rectangular stand that says 'Aurora Plastic Corp. Brooklyn, 4, N.Y.'. There are no landing gear, gear doors or mass balances. The second issue has identical box art, plastic color, decals and rectangular stand, but the box and instructions says 'West Hempstead' instead of Brooklyn. The clear stand mold has had 'Brooklyn' milled out, and there is no location on the stand. The third issue has the same artwork, but the full color 'Aurora Line' logo is used - but the big changes were on the inside. Aurora modified the molds, adding a pitot tube, elevator mass balances and landing gear struts, wheels and doors. The decals and stand remain the same, but the new instructions reflect the changes to the molds. This time the kit is molded in an attractive metallic blue. The fourth issue dropped the Jim Cox artwork in favor of a new P-38 flying from right to left across a threatening sky. The plastic still metallic light blue and the decals and stand remain unchanged. The new details were retained. The fifth issue was 1959. The oval 'Famous Fighters' logo was used with Jo Kotula artwork of two P-38s. The detail level of the kit remained the same, but it was molded in olive drab and clear. The newer 'Triangle' base was added at this time. Further issues kept this box artwork, but the oval logo changed as well as the price extensions.

SU100 Assault Gun Motorized - (Su-100)

$95

Very early Tamiya Mokei issue from 1966. These first-logo kits with high-gloss boxes and fantastic artwork are very popular and collectible. This is a very nicely molded kit for that time and features many moving parts, all hardware for motorizing, an all metal gear box for realistic track drive from the sprockets and more. Even the tracks are in mint condition and still very flexible. Never started. Inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.
