Still factory sealed and very early Microscale decals by the Martin Krasel Studios in Culver City, California. These decals are 'mint' condition and have always been stored in a climate controlled residence. Includes the markings & paint guide sheet. On this website are two articles that fully explain how to save or reproduce older decals; please read read these before using any older model kit or aftermarket decals. On this website are two articles that fully explain how to save or reproduce older decals; please read read these before using any older model kit or aftermarket decals. To save on or eliminate shipping for decals, please order them with model kits or order enough of them to make boxing worth while. USPS clearly states that any flexible envelope will be bent 90 degrees or more in 2 inches, I cannot send decals in a flexible envelope. And any decal reinforced with cardboard will be greater than 1/4" thick, which USPS says must go as a normal box. There is no choice; because I will not send decals to their probable destruction, shipping in a box is the only option.

The Hawk P-36A has the dubious distinction of fighting on both sides and for more countries than any other plane in history during the opening years of WWII. This Hawk, one in a long progression of famous fighter aircraft, was the winner of a 1935 competition. The USAA Corps received the first aircraft in April of 1938 and the French ordered 100 aircraft in May of the same year. French Hawks shot down just over 30 German planes during the battle for France. The Germans captured the aircraft and sold them to Finland. Others were captured when the Germans overran Norway. In all over 800 Hawks were produced and served in China, Netherlands East Indies, Portugal, Great Britain, Thailand, Argentina and Peru. Although an excellent fighter in 1935, the Hawk was outclassed by the time the war started but when flown properly still gave a good account of itself.

The actual kit is the final FROG logo issue from the 1970s. Frog is the father of all injection molded plastic kits, which were called "FROG Penguin" because they did not fly. A significant variety were issued well before WWII and after the war, Frog very successfully picked up where they left off. This model is a significant upgrade from previous kits. It can build any one of three versions and features fine recessed panels lines with a few raised ones, pilot with seat & floor, four 20mm cannon, separately molded ailerons, elevators & rudder, optional position landing gear, rotating propeller & wheels, rockets, bombs and more. Includes excellent full size plans with detailed instructions. Never started. The small parts are still in the factory sealed bag; the parts that were never sealed have been inventoried complete. Please NOTE: the box displays better than the 'very good+' grade but is rated as such because there is a 1.5" long closed tear at the center of the lower long box side. Sterling was a famous manufacturer dating back to the 1930/40s flying model craze. Although they continued to produce kits for decades after the flying model slump following World War II, they eventually fell victim to the general lack of interest in modeling that occurred in the early 1980s. I always considered Sterling's offering to be 'deluxe' compared to other manufacturers.
