1973 USA issue of the famous, long-serving ASW aircraft. The flaws in the Lockheed Electra ensured that it had a short service life as an airliner. But the sound design was modified into one of the most successful and long serving of all ASW aircraft - the Orion. Revell seized upon this opportunity to recoup some of the money sunk into the Electra molds. The molds were modified to make this kit, the "A" version of the venerable patrol aircraft. (please see the article about the mold conversion this on this website.) Features optional position landing gear & loading door, movable wheels & propeller and more. Never started. Inventoried and NOTE: missing (1) part, landing gear door #19R. Otherwise complete with all other parts, decals and instructions present.
