This 'S' hardbox issue is dated 1956, but from the price extension of '349', it is most likely from about 1958/1959. Very well detailed and molded large kit that features a full, one-piece hull, complete propeller and rudder detail, moving Elevators, crane and antenna booms, separately molded anti-aircraft guns and directors, detailed island structure with sensor suite, and much more. Includes an Air Wing of helicopters, A3D Skywarriors, FJ Furys, F7U Cutlass and Banshee aircraft. The kit has never been started. Inside, the parts are still in the Revell factory sealed bag, which is most unusual. This must have been right around the first time that Revell started to experiment with sealing the parts inside such a large kit. Includes decals and instructions, both of which are in 'excellent++' condition.

This is a 1/2 size reproduction of the famous Buzzard Bombshell. This model came from the estate of a very active and particular early aircraft kit collector. It is like factory-new inside and features die cut parts, quality balsa printwood, factory-cut spars and stringers, other wood & metal stock as required, red covering tissue and more. Never started. The die-cut parts are still in the factory sealed clear bag. The other parts were never sealed and have been inventoried complete. Includes excellent, full-size rolled plans.

There is no choice; because I will not send decals to their probable destruction, shipping in a box is the only option. I inquired about sending decals via "Media Mail" as the looks like the perfect solution; however, the US Post Master specifically called out decals as not being Media mail and prohibiting using it in that way. Yes, some businesses do anyway but it is against regulations. I have a great relationship with USPS and I cannot put that at risk.

Rare first issue from 1956 with Northern Lights logo which includes a very colorful, never opened metal tube of Aurora Cement and also the factory tissue paper. The box is in beautiful "Excellent+++" condition with factory-new color & gloss and four solid corners. There is no fading, no stains, no tears or missing litho, no creases and no price tags or tag marks. It would have graded 'Near Mint' but there is a very small (11mmx 5mm) factory tape pull on the upper long side. Molded in the correct gloss deep green with flexible black treads. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts, glue, tissue packing paper and includes decals and instructions.

Museum quality craftsman model in large scale features a factory pre-carved basswood hull and factory shaped deck houses, over 200 photo-etched brass and finely cast Britannia pewter parts, all brass, wood and styrene materials required and a detailed step-by-step instructions manual and two sheets of full-size plans. The kit has never been started and is like new inside. The parts that Bluejacket sealed at the factory are still in the sealed clear bags. Very rare. From 1952 or '53. This is one of (if not) Revell's first gift set. It is Gowland-produced with no part number. Gowland designed and molded these kits as well as providing the box artwork (signed D.K. Gowland) and instructions - Revell did the marketing. Inside, the kit is correct with all cardboard dividers, all small parts still in the correct wax paper bags, cars molded in red, black, dark blue and green, tires molded in black and correct instructions. The models have never been started. Four kits are still factory sealed in the original krinkle bags. One kit, the 1903 Cadillac is in the krinkle bag but the bag has split, as they often do. I have inventoried this kit and it is 100% complete with all parts and instructions present. Before the 1950s 'model building' never made the top 10 list of boy's activities. Hobbies were nothing new to America in the 1930s/40s, but they were not mainstream. By the late 1910 and early '20s, many dedicated modelers were building flying or static airplanes, ship, train, automotive or other subjects. Basic kits existed, but the majority of these models were built from scratch, which demanded a high talent level developed from years of experience. By the 1930s, the 'Aviation Craze" had taken hold of this country and kits appeared everywhere. However, it was estimated at the time that at least 80% of these were never sucessfully completed (and fewer than that flown). That changed in the early 1950s with the advent of plastics and affordable injection molding equipement. The phenomenon of the all-plastic Revell/Gowland & Gowland 'Highway Pioneers' car kits was a significant force in proving that model building as a hobby could have mass appeal, provided that the kits were easy enough to build and finish. These 1/32 scale vehicles were completely molded to shape in color and could be built in an hour after dinner. When complete, they looked much like the real car. The Highway Pioneers series lead to the production of other subjects in plastic and the effect was revolutionary. By the early 1960s, model building was the #1 past time of American boys...and adult males as well!

First issue hardbox with dated 1957. This superb model features full interior detail with instrument panel, yokes, front and rear seats & opening doors, removable cowl with detailed engine, floats, standing pilot figure and ski-equipped bathing beauty. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Monogram offered a wonderful but insanely rare card-stock display that was available through mail order only. It was based on the factory display cardboard but with most of the advertising removed. The same was done for the Piper Tri-Pacer.
