Very rare classic Cold-War kit from the late 1950s. The Atomic Cannon was the Army's 20 mile range gun that could fire shells that contains small atomic bombs. The model is very highly detailed for that time and features transporters with movable wheels, towing yokes, fully detailed cab interiors, complete suspension and elevating and swiveling machine guns; the Atomic Cannon itself can be configured for firing or towing positions, the barrel elevates by actual operating gears, the carriage rotates 360 degrees on platform and it actually fires 2 "Atomic" shells. Includes crew of 7. NOTE: this kit has minor and very neat assembly as follows: (4) front wheels were built; due to using very little glue, three of them have come apart with age. One remains firmly assembled. Also, two front differentials (chassis parts) have been assembled. There is no other assembly. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. The decals are very loosely rolled and in 'very good++' condition with the typical yellowing as the main flaws. The instructions are in 'excellent' condition with minimal yellowing and a slight bit of wear to the page edges and bound edge. The Atomic Cannon originally started life as a conventional artillery piece. Development first began in 1944 before the first atomic weapon had been tested. Far from being 'just another giant gun', the M65 was carefully designed to be a very mobile and versatile weapon. Liberal use of aluminum and other light-weight metals kept the weight of the gun and both transports to about 85 tons, which is not much more than the largest conventional gun of WWII. As a result, it is light enough to be carried by trucks and cross bridges without collapsing them. Size was also a major factor, as it can fit inside landing craft, turn street corners of an amazingly small radius and travel as fast at 35 mph. The two transporters are required to move the gun, with one in back and one in front. Power is supplied to each tractor by a 6 cylinder engine with 375 horsepower. Both transmissions are manually controlled. These 4x4 machines can push, pull or parallel one another - with the gun slung between them. The driver of the front tractor has control of the brakes and throttles of both units and can communicate to the rear driver by telephone. The gun can be traversed in a complete circle and has a range of up to 20 miles. A complete 280mm battery consisted of two guns, four 5-ton trucks towing ammunition trailers, another two trucks pulling a pair of generator trailers (each with a 30 KW generator to furnish power to the guns), a 5th truck carrying four shell carts and a 2 1/2 ton shop van. The total crew was about 100 men. Each gun could be set up to fire in less than 12 minutes and can fire a round every two minutes.

1980 issue that was made in and marketed in Japan. The box is in 'Near Mint+' condition and the kit inside features very fine raised panel lines and recessed control surface lines, simple cockpit with pilot, optional position speed brakes and optional position landing gear. Like most Japan issues, it has an expanded decal sheet for RAF 616 Sq and 74 Sq. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.

Monogram's first aircraft model dated 1946. A very rare kit for the advanced collector. When you see this model, it's easy to see how Monogram took the modeling world by storm. The kit is highly engineered, tested and very prefabricated. The balsa body is 24 inches long and completely finished. Wings are completely finished with airfoils. The tail parts are cut to shape and the metal landing gear wire is bent to shape. All other wire parts are fully formed and it includes rubber tread wheels as well as plastic canopy and spinner and decals. The cowling is hinged to provide easy access to the engine, coil, battery and fuel tank. Includes two very large sheet of full size plans/instructions as well as sandpaper, all required hardware, printwood and more. Inside, the kit is like new. It has never been started and all cardboard dividers are intact. All small parts are still in the factory sealed bag. All other parts have been inventoried complete. The plans and decals are excellent and the even the original factory tissue packing paper is still present. The box has excellent color, four solid corners, no repairs and the original factory sealing tape on the sides and bottom tray. The box grades 'excellent+' and the only flaws are general light edge, corner and shelf wear. Postal insurance is required for this kit.

First issue dated 1956 with the incredible artwork that has made these kits so famous and valuable. The box is in amazing "Near Mint-" condition with perfect color and gloss. The only things keeping it from being mint are a tiny crease at the lower left (not even visible in the photo) and short, closed tears on the long box sides at the factory sealing tape. Features folding wings and horizontal stabilizer, rotating and elevating rear gun turret, optional position landing gear, speed brakes & escape hatch, three crew figures and more. Includes the famous clear Revell 'Globe' stand. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Instructions and decals are in 'excellent++' condition also with very light yellowing as the only flaw.

Dated 1960. The box is in beautiful 'Excellent++' condition. The only flaws are very light wear marks and the scratch in the B-17 at engine #3. Notice the 'Sunburst' logo with no 'Famous Fighters' in the oval, which dates this kit closer to the mid 1960s. Molded in black and clear with the clear triangular 'globe' display stand. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. USPS clearly states that any flexible envelope will be bent 90 degrees or more within 2 inches, so I cannot send decals in a flexible envelope. A decal reinforced with cardboard will be greater than 1/4" thick, which USPS says must go as a normal box. There is no choice; because I will not send decals to their probable destruction, shipping in a box is the only option.

This is a finely molded and well detailed kit for that time which features removable canopy, pilot figure, detailed engine, landing gear, retractable landing skid, movable control surfaces & dive brakes and more. Molded in black and clear plastic and includes Revell's famous round-based 'Globe' swivel stand, a separate, full size color and marking sheet with four views and even an excellent history of the aircraft.
