In 1965 the ABC network came out with a TV series called 'My Mother the Car', in which a man's mother came back to life as a 1928 Porter. To capitalize on the TV marketing, AMT was allowed to produce and market this '1928 Porter' model. The TV series only lasted one season, which eliminated future sale for AMT. The molds were quickly put aside and forgotten. However, decades later, modeling collectors ended up with a very rare kit and one that is highly detailed as well. It features a rolling chassis build up just like an actual car from that period, detailed engine, realistic layered spoked wire wheels, detailed front & rear suspension and rear differential, gas tank, rear steamer trunk, removable hood, side-mounted spare, convertible top and even the dash-mounted radio that 'Mother' talked through. Molded in red, clear, chrome plate and with rubber tires. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, the original special paints (black and white), brush, factory-sealed metal tube of glue and includes decals and photocopied instructions. NOTE: the instructions are excellent quality copies; the originals are missing. NOTE: two tires & rims and the 2 spare tire halves are assembled. There is no other assembly. The convertible top, frame, engine parts and some other smaller part have been very neatly adult painted.

Still factory sealed. This 2016 issue is from the original 1970s molds. Since it is the Shell Edition, it is molded in Pearl Shell Yellow and includes an expanded decal sheet with Shell Oil Emblems. The model is well detailed with full blown engine, complete suspension, drive line and exhaust, dual rear slicks, full interior, 'tanker' rear, custom decals for Li'l Gasser, Shell and numerous others. Molded in yellow, clear, chrome and with rubber tires.

Limited edition release including aircraft of the famous Thunderbirds USAF Demonstration Team. The kits have never been started. All five decals are flat, 100% intact and in 'excellent+ to near mint+' condition. The T-33, F-105B, F-4 and T-38 are all still in the factory sealed bags. NOTE: the F-100 kit and instructions are missing; the decals are present. Any easily available Hasegawa 1/72 F-100 will work perfectly as they are all from the same molds.

1982 issue that is well detailed with 273 parts. This kit features optional parts for Bi or BIII versions, elevating guns, rotating turrets, some cockpit and interior detail, rotating propellers & wheels, movable rudder, elevators & ailerons, optional position bomb bay doors, bomb bay detail & bombs, optional position undercarriage, very well detailed tow tractor, several bomb carts and numerous bombs. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Includes accessories (bomb carts, tractor) as shown on box cover. Has markings for either aircraft. MG-K of 7th Sq served as a minelayer, bomber and one of the first units of the Pathfinder force, and EX-L of 199 Sq of No.3 Group which converted from Wellingtons in 1943 and performed bombing, minelaying and supply missions. In 1944 they flew with 100 Group on Radio Counter Measure (ECM) missions until 1945.

1960s issue that is finely molded in yellow and clear plastic. Features very fine surface detail, separately molded ailerons, elevators & rudder, cockpit floor, seats & crew, detailed engines, complete landing gear, clear cockpit, chin & side fuselage windows and more. This kit has never been started. Inventoried with all aircraft parts, decals and instructions present. NOTE: Missing display stand. Frog is considered the father of injection molded model kits. The Lines Brothers opened Frog in 1932, capitalizing on the fever caused by Lindberg's solo transatlantic flight. Almost overnight the western populations became 'Air-Minded', and anything aviation was in high demand. Frog created a quality line of stick and tissue rubber powered aircraft and gliders as well as innovative ready-to-fly rubber powered aircraft that required no assembly. The box even contained a built-in rubber motor winder and fuselage holder. Model airplane flight competitions were popular in Great Britain, and one category was 'Rise Off the Ground', or ROG. By changing this to 'Flies Right Off the Ground', the FROG name was born. In 1936 Frog created a line of injection molded plastic models, the first such kit line in the world (Hawk sold a line of injection molded aircraft models in 1934 but they were factory assembled and painted). Named 'Penguin' after the bird that does not fly, the kits were innovative beyond the means of production. At a time when models were simply built by wingspan, the Penguin line was a constant 1/72 scale. Furthermore, a large 1/72 Short S.30 Empire class flying boat contained a full interior and lights! A line of accessories such as AA guns, tractors, hanger, ambulance, sound locator, searchlights and lighting kits were quickly added to the line. WWII caused a pause in production. After the war the box color changed from silver to green, and Penguin kits were also marketed in the USA. Production ended in 1950. Frog quickly expanded and released the Red, Orange, Black, Green, Gold Token, Spin and Comet series as well as Trail Blazers and several others. It is noteworthy that while most manufacturers in the 1940s/50 were making toy-like models, Frog attempted to make very realistic models. For example, 'detailing' kits with excessively large rivets was once very popular. Frog ignored this trend and continued to mold aircraft with fine panel lines and no rivets. As a result, Frog kits can be built into very realistic replicas. Production ended in the late 1970s, but Frog molds are still in use around the world.

1960 hardbox first issue of the P-39 in the rare "Whip Fly" series. The artwork for this series was drawings or retouched 'action' photos by Tom Kelly. The box is in exceptional condition with the only real flaw being the very small litho pull from a price tag at the upper right. Whip-Fly kits contain the aircraft model with nose ballast, a metal control ring, 12 feet of control line and a control handle. Never started. Inside, it is exactly as it left the factory. The kit and all paperwork and whip-fly accessories are all in the factory sealed bag. Literally the entire contents of the kit are factory sealed.

Rare and from the 1930s. This is a Cleveland 'Dwarf' kit which was one of the smaller scale models. It includes the following quality parts: all sheets of printwood, all factory-cut stringers and spars, metal stock, brass radiator screen, factory-cut & labeled propeller blank, factory cut and labeled pilot bust block, factory-cut and drilled front cowl, metal stock and covering tissue. Cleveland had a reputation for making the finest and most accurate scale models in the 1930s and this kit is no exception. This model has never been started. From what I know about Cleveland kits, I believe it to complete except maybe for two wheels. NOTE: missing the plans, although Cleveland Plan R-15 is available on line and *might* be the same kit.
