Still factory sealed and a fine model of possibly the smallest aircraft to serve in the US Navy. During the 1920s, the Navy expressed interest in submarine based aircraft as the British had experimented with during WWI. They tried domestic models as well as one German and the Macchi, which they purchased three of. The experiments proved troublesome and the idea was dropped; no one knows what happened to the aircraft. Esoteric produced some of the finest 1/72 vacuform kits ever. This one features white plastic vac moldings, metal radiator & propeller, extruded strut material and full instructions.

These decals are 'mint' condition and have always been stored in a climate controlled residence. Includes paint and markings guide. On this website are two articles that fully explain how to save or reproduce older decals; please read read these before using any older model kit or aftermarket decals. To save on or eliminate shipping for decals, please order them with model kits or order enough of them to make boxing worth while. USPS clearly states that any flexible envelope will be bent 90 degrees or more within 2 inches, so I cannot send decals in a flexible envelope. A decal reinforced with cardboard will be greater than 1/4" thick, which USPS says must go as a normal box. There is no choice; because I will not send decals to their probable destruction, shipping in a box is the only option. I inquired about sending decals via "Media Mail" as the looks like the perfect solution; however, the US Post Master specifically called out decals as not being Media mail and prohibiting using it in that way. Yes, some businesses do anyway but it is against regulations. I have a great relationship with USPS and I cannot put that at risk.

Very rare and one of only a few ways to build a Warwick in 1/72 - and all are long of production. This kit features well molded vac parts, clear canopies in mint condition (with only the smallest hint of yellowing) and numerous injection molded parts (gear struts, wheels, engines, etc). Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and present. NOTE: If combined with the optional parts in a single Contrail Warwick kit, this kit allows you to build a 2nd Warwick. NOTE: this is not a complete kit. It includes white vac plastic fuselage, all four wing and horizontal stabilizer halves, vac clear transparencies and the detail parts. Nothing else is included. Contrail did not issue instructions with the accessory pack. Designed for Air Ministry specification B.1/35 for a two-engined heavy bomber, the Warwick was to replace the Wellington and used the same sturdy geodetic 'basket weave' construction. However, the prototype orders were canceled in 1936 to concentrate on four-engine bombers. Vickers completed two of the prototypes anyway. RAF Coastal Command liked what it saw and eventually 712 Warwicks were produced and used for transports, air-sea rescue, meteorological recon and anti-submarine work. One saw use as a BOAC Transport and the aircraft was used by the Air Forces of Poland and South Africa.

This is a basic vacuform kit that includes white vac parts, clear window material and building plans with assembly notes and history. Very rare 1950s model in very good condition. This kit is unusual in that it includes the sealed tube of very colorful 'Frog Polystyrene Cement' and the factory glass vial of white paint with it's cork seal intact. The glue is still flexible but the paint has dried up. The box is the early thick cardboard version with four solid corners, no rips or tears in the box or the litho and no price tags or marks from them. The short sides have marks from the factory tape where it was originally sealed. Flaws include light edge wear, corner wear and general surface wear. Inside the kit is molded in the correct clear and silver with the large FROG display stand. The extensive, full color KLM decal sheet is flat and intact with minimal yellowing - 'excellent' condition overall. The instructions are 'very good' with general wear. The kit has never been started. Inventoried and NOTE: missing (1) of (4) propeller retainers; otherwise complete with all other parts including decals and instructions. The propeller retainers are a simple cylinder with a hole drilled in the middle.

Very rare and 100% correct first issue from 1954 with the proper swastika box art and swastika decals. This one is even rarer as it is never started and complete. The model is molded in the correct gloss black and clear, with the rectangle-based clear stand, matching instructions, decals and even the original factory tissue packing paper. The decals are in stunning 'near mint' condition, flat and have only the slightest touch of yellowing. The instructions are 'excellent' with slight yellowing, light wear and a 3/4" long closed split on one fold crease. The box has excellent color and gloss, four solid original corners (no repairs), no price tags or tag marks, no tape or tape marks (other than the thin factory sealing tape of course), no fading, stains or torn/missing litho. Flaws include general even wear, especially to the left corners and edge as shown. This kit has a fascinating history. The FW-190 was among the first (or was the first) kit made at the new West Hempstead factory in 1954. It immediately followed the famous "Brooklyn 8" (Aurora's first 8 aircraft kits). It was Aurora's first WWII aircraft kit to be originally issues with landing gear and bombs but still retains the small clear rectangle stand which was also shown on the instructions. This first issue shows the swastika on the box art and decals; however, Aurora quickly realized that they could not sell the kit in Europe. So they used an ink stamp to black out the offensive mark on the box top and initially cut it out of the decal sheet; however, they were quick to make a completely new decal sheet with the 'iron cross' replacing the swastika. These alterations are often called the 'second issue' although it carried the same part number and everything else was the same. The third issue came out in 1957; the same box art was used, but there were many other changes. The left-hand international insignia panel was eliminated; the yellow rectangle 'blotted out' the old logo and the oval 'Famous Fighters' logo was used instead; the swastika on the tail was neatly painted out and a small iron cross added; 'Famous Fighters of All Nations' was moved to the upper right with much smaller font; "Focke-Wulf 190" was placed at the upper left; the text below the tail feathers was changed to "1/4 Scale Model All Plastic Assembly Kit." The instruction sheet was also changed to reflect the new 'triangle' base stand, iron cross tail decal and logo change; the decal sheet was the same as the second issue but with a triangle-shaped stand decal added.
