On this website are two articles that fully explain how to save or reproduce older decals; please read read these before using any older model kit or aftermarket decals. To save on or eliminate shipping for decals, please order them with model kits or order enough of them to make boxing worth while. USPS clearly states that any flexible envelope will be bent 90 degrees or more in 2 inches, I cannot send decals in a flexible envelope. And any decal reinforced with cardboard will be greater than 1/4" thick, which USPS says must go as a normal box. There is no choice; because I will not send decals to their probable destruction, shipping in a box is the only option.

1960s issue hardbox issue that is molded in dark green plastic with the small parts in black. This issue includes the ground mechanic and small ground base with chocks. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. This is part of the famous Aurora WWI series of 1/48 scale aircraft. The series began in 1956 and Aurora added new kits into the early 1960s. The line proved incredibly popular, so these kits were included in the 'mold upgrade' in the 1970s before Aurora went out of business. Please note that the box top displays as a stunning 'mint' condition; however, it is graded 'excellent++' because there is a small section of light tape residue at the lower center of each of long side. The tape has long since fallen off due to age.

1963 hard box issue in 'Very Good++' condition with John Steel artwork. Very well detailed and features movable tracks and bogie wheels, crew, movable bulldozer blade, ammunition loader and much more. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. The instructions do not show any decals either on the assembly portions or the photos of the completed model. I have seen this kit with and without decals; this is an issue with no decals. NOTE: the instructions have two closed tears.

Aurora usually relied on top-quality dramatic artwork for box top decoration; they almost never used photographs of completed kits but Porthos, Athos and Aramis were an exception. This figures includes sword, scabbard & strap, hat with a real feather plume (in 'near mint' condition), display base and even a very detailed painting guide. Never started. This is the 1988 issue that uses the same molds as the late 1960s original issue. Very finely molded and detailed for the time. Includes decals for both aircraft listed. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. NOTE: (2) blades are neatly broken at the hub off of two different propellers. Both blades are present so you can repair them. However, one propeller is a different color plastic because it is from an older issue of this same kit. In the 1930s Pan Am was a household word in the USA for their romantic foreign routes and the glamorous 'China Clippers' that crossed the Pacific Ocean, stopping at such ports as Wake Island. Pan Am's attention soon turned to the Atlantic. Since non-stop service would be needed, a new aircraft was designed. The Boeing 314 was chosen. This huge flying boat started flying the Atlantic mail in 1939 with a trip over 26 hours long. Before the war, the 314 fleet flew the Pacific, Atlantic and other routes. The airliner was a palace compared to the cramped jets and limited service of today. The flight deck compared to the bridge of a ship and housed 6 crew. It was connected to the passenger cabin by a spiral staircase. The luxurious cabins were divided into 5 standard compartments, each seating 10 passengers, a dining salon for 14, a special compartment for four and a deluxe bridal suite. 74 could be carried on day trips and 40 when sleeping quarters for all passengers was required. Chefs prepared gourmet meals while passengers lounged in deeply cushioned wicker chairs and enjoyed a grand view of the scenery from about 5,000 feet. The age of the Clippers ended shortly after WWII when land planes could operate at much higher speeds than the flying boats.

Rare and still the only kit ever made of this subject. Includes parts and instructions so you can build either the BG-1 or the modified XB2G-1. During its short existence (1928-1936), the Great Lakes Aircraft Corporation had only one type in achieve series production, the BG-1. It was designed as a scout and dive bomber and was very well liked by those who flew it. The range was a bit shorter than desired with a 1000 lb bomb, so Great Lakes designed the XB2G-1, which was a greatly modified BG-1 that carried the bomb internally among other changes. However when it was ready for testing, other aircraft were already more suited to the dive bombing task. This is a very high quality kit with metal details, extruded plastic strut material, full decals and white vacuform moldings that rival or surpass injection molded parts in detail. Includes full interior. Features all parts required for construction, very good cockpit, metal details and extruded strut material. Never started. The small parts are still in the factory sealed bag; the white vac parts are uncut, untouched and 100% complete. Includes all decals and excellent instructions. Rare original hardbox issue from 1958 in a beautiful 'Excellent++' condition box; this is not the common 1995 softbox reissue. Aurora had set the bar high for early armor kits; Revell had to better that and they did. This model features fine surface detail, flexible working treads, rotating turret, elevating gun, optional position hatches, four troops and more. Molded in the correct gloss deep green and with silver flexible tracks. Never started. All parts, decals and instructions have been inventoried 100% complete and are correct for this early issue. The box top has outstanding color & gloss, four solid corners and no repairs. The flaws the lightest of edge & corner wear on the lower right, very slight & isolated general wear on the two long sides and a very small & light 'ding' (about 1/4" long) on the left short panel.

This hard-to-find and dated 1982. This is a very large 1/8 scale model that measures 23.75 inches long when assembled. Molded with a 'Metal Glow' body, rubber Goodyear Eagle GT tires and features a complete interior with full instrument panel, center console, shift and brake levers & contoured bucket seats; the hood opens to display the detailed Cross-Fire Injected Chevy V-8 and complete engine compartment and much, much more. Even includes Turtle Wax for the Metal Glow Body that was developed especially for Monogram.

I inquired about sending decals via "Media Mail" as the looks like the perfect solution; however, the US Post Master specifically called out decals as not being Media mail and prohibiting using it in that way. Yes, some businesses do anyway but it is against regulations. I have a great relationship with USPS and I cannot put that at risk.
