Still factory sealed. 1998 issue of the classic 1969 kit. Very large 1/24 scale, well detailed kit of Major Yuri Gagarin's spacecraft. Gagarin's flight was the first of 6 successful Vostok launches from the secret space center at Baikonur. Gagarin made one orbit in 108 minutes, which was enough to make him the first man in space. Titov followed in Vostok 2 and made 17 orbits. Other launches featured 4 mile passes in orbit, and Vostok 6 featured the first Woman Astronaut, Valentina Tereshkova. It is interesting that Vostok did not have attitude control for correct placement when re-entering the earth's atmosphere. The sphere was designed with the weight off-center, so it would automatically swing into position during the heat of reentry. Features detachable crew compartment, ejecting seat and Cosmonaut figure. Molded in metallic silver and clear and includes display stand.

These decals have just a touch of yellowing as the only flaw; place them in a sunny window for several days to remove the yellow. They have always been stored in a climate controlled residence. Includes a full color paint and markings guide for multiple aircraft. On this website are two articles that fully explain how to save or reproduce older decals; please read read these before using any older model kit or aftermarket decals. Because USPS handles envelopes roughly, I will only ship decals in a box; so to save on shipping, order decals with model kits so they ship together.

These decals are 'mint' condition and have always been stored in a climate controlled residence. Includes paint and markings guide. On this website are two articles that fully explain how to save or reproduce older decals; please read read these before using any older model kit or aftermarket decals. Because the USPS clearly states that any flexible envelope will be bent 90 degrees or more in 2 inches, I cannot send decals in a flexible envelope. And any decal reinforced with cardboard will be greater than 1/4" thick, which USPS says must go as a normal box. There is no choice; because I will not knowingly send decals to destruction, they will only ship decals in a box. So to save on or eliminate shipping for decals, please order them with model kits or order enough of them to make boxing worth while.

This fine model is ex-Miniature Masterpieces (Adams & Revell) and from the original molds. Like all Miniature Masterpieces kits, this one is very finely engraved and molded with excellent detail. In addition to the carriage, it includes horses, the General, his lady, driver and a display base. Molded in light tan. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes instructions. This kit has a great history! 'Miniature Masterpieces' was formed through an alliance of Lou Glasser (Revell) and Steve Adams (Adams Action Models) in 1953. Although having the appearance of an independent company, the firm was run by Revell down to the prototypes being made at the Revell plant. However, there was no evidence of the parent company on the surface. The State Coach of England was the first kit, issued in 1953. More kits of excellent quality followed. Revell completely took over the line in 1954, making the one-year original issues very rare. After Revell no longer saw these as 'market viable' they molds were sold or leased to UPC. UPC stood for Universal Powermaster Corporation which was based out of New York City, NY. UPC did not cut their own molds, but bought kits already molded from other manufacturers and re-boxed the kits in the USA. Scott Eidson, the famous artist best known for his artwork with Revell, also did UPC box art in the 1960s. All UPC production ended in the 1970s. Eventually Life-Like ended up with the molds and reissued them. And from J. Boyle - The actual carriage still exists and is displayed at the Studebaker National museum in SouthBend, Indiana. It seems the Studebaker firm bought the carriage at the turn of the last century. When Studebaker quit building cars, it was donated to the City for eventual placement in a museum, along with many cars and other historic horse-drawn carriages collected by the firm.
