Still factory sealed but the seal has split. This model is the only correct early production 1/48 Dagger Kit. Original early Daggers came with the 'Case X' wing which had wing tips that were upturned and squared off. Later aircraft, starting with serial #56-1317, had the Case XX wing. This wing has rounded, turned down tips with larger elevons that are angled with the tip. Markings for two aircraft are included: 509th Fighter Interceptor Sq based at Clark, Philippines. This aircraft depicted was deployed to South East Asia to Tan Son Nhut in South Vietnam. The second aircraft is from Connecticut AG 118th.

On the 4th of October 1957 a specially modified R-7 Missile launched the first man-made satellite named PS-1 or "Sputnik" into orbit. PS-1 (simple satellite number one) broadcast for 92 days on 20.005 and 40.002 Mhz. The kit itself is nicely molded with all fine recessed panel line detail. The kit has never been started. 1970s issue and an superb kit for that time. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Over 1000 Trackers were completed for the Navy as carrier-based submarine hunters. Grumman was awarded the contract in 1950, and in 1952 the first XS2F-1 flew. The large belly radome contained the PAS-38 search radar and the ASQ-10 MAD detector was in the tail. ALD-3 ECM performed DF (direction finding) duties, and the 70 million candle power spotlight lit up targets at night. Sonobuoys were held in both engine nacelles and offensive weapons included acoustic torpedoes, depth charges, rockets and conventional bombs. Trackers saw service in several other Navies including Canada.

1955 2nd issue with great box art and the black rubber tires. The only difference is that this has the 'PA' suffix part number and the first issue has the 'P' suffix. This was Monogram's 8th plastic aircraft kit and sported the perfect fit and finish that Monogram was soon became famous for. Features rotating propellers, optional retracted or 'landing' position floats, two torpedoes and two crew members. Molded in medium blue and clear with the black rubber tires. Rare 1975 Japan issue with unique and beautiful box artwork. As with most Japan issues, this one contains extra features including decals for two aircraft and a large, full color painting on the front of the instructions. Older but nicely detailed, large-scale model of this British night fighter with airborne interception radar. The Beaufighter was flown by aces such like Flt./Lt. "Cat's Eyes" Cunningham, whose markings are included. His final score stood at 20 victories and his aircraft is one that can be depicted in this model. This model features detailed Bristol Hercules engines, removable cowling, two flight crew, optional position landing gear, full crew cockpits and radar antenna. The kit has never been started. The small parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags; the large parts are not sealed and have been inventoried complete. Includes decals and instructions. My friend and model builder Stephen Payne high recommends that the purchaser of any Beaufighter Night Fighter model invests in a copy of the book "Night Fighter" by C.F. Rawnsley. Rawnsley was John Cunningham's Airborne Intercept radar operator throughout WWII in both Beaufighters and Mosquitoes. The book is the story of their time and combat together and makes excellent reading.

Low level strike aircraft have a shorter airframe life limit due to the stresses of low level flying, so the Buccaneer was designed to be very strong and even had many sub-assemblies milled from solid metal.
