From the mid 1970s and original Pyro molds. Full hull kit measures almost 10 inches long when assembled and features very good molded detail including wood planking on the deck, wood grain on the hull and even copper plates below the waterline, pre-molded ratlines, detailed deck, billowing sails and display stand. Molded wood brown and off-white. A photo of the built kit on the instructions serves as a standing rigging diagram. Never started. Inventoried complete and includes the instructions. This is one of the 'intermediate' line of Pyro ship kits, which at the time were Pyro called '$1.00 Models'. All were roughly the same size and were a significant increase in detail from the '50 Cent Models'.

Earlier issue most likely from the late 1940s where the aircraft is labeled 'P-80' instead of the 'F-80' on later issues. StromBecker was famous for this line of precarved hardwood and plastic kits. The carving is done to the final shape. When complete it makes an impressive desk top display. Includes all hardwood factory-carved parts, clear plastic canopy, hardwood stand with metal stand arm, full decals, sandpaper, sanding stick, wood filler, Casco Powdered Casein Glue, Casein Company Wood Filler and complete instructions. This reissue is from the original 1950s Strombecker molds cut in cooperation with Walt Disney Studios. The Disney 'Man in Space' series is famous for it's futuristic vehicles and great special effects. This is one of the ships from that series. The AR-80 was Arado's entry to compete with the German Air Ministry's request for a new fighter to replace the existing He-51 and AR-68. The other aircraft in competition with the Ar-80 were the Fw-159, He-112 and Bf-109. Despite loosing to the '109, several were built for testing and other purposes.

1960s issue with the famous 'Airfix -72' logo. This is the RAF Military version of the very poplar business jet. Appears to be an early variant, perhaps the 1A or at the latest a 400 series. Can easily be built to business aircraft configuration if you supply your own decals and eliminate some of the small antenna. Features cockpit detail and crew, optional position main and emergency doors, separately molded elevators and ailerons and optional position landing gear. Never started. Originally built as the 'Earl of Pembroke,' the Bark Endeavour was purchased by the Admiralty and heavily modified as an exploration ship. She embarked on the now-epic three year trip around the world, during which Cook did more charting of the Pacific Ocean than any other western sailor. This very well detailed, full-hull model is from 1994 and features 106 pieces, full hull, complete deck fittings, billowing sails, full rigging instructions and much more. Molded in tan and black plastic with white vacuform sails, fife rails, deadeyes, ships boat with seats & oars, crew members, display stand and more.
