Some molds have a colorful history; this one is no exception. At one point, Monogram may have leased or sold a set of Corsair molds (from the original 4 Star action kit) to Idea in Korea. Idea either copied these molds or back-engineered them from a kit; but they modifed them with a tab on each tree with the Idea name. Hobby Craft's kit is the Idea copy of the Monogram Corsair (right down to the blue and black parts) with the Idea tab. On the outside of many Hobby Craft boxes it says 'Make in South Korea' - obviously Idea is one of the agents who molded kits for HC. Like the Monogram model, this 'Working Action Model' has many great features including folding wings, retractable landing gear and tail wheel with all gear doors, working arresting gear and rotating wheels and propeller. Under-wing stores feature 5" rockets, bombs and drop tanks. Includes decals for Marine version. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.
