Includes the following Hasegawa factory sealed PE Sets: QG11 And QG13. These have a retail price of over $40 each ($80+ together). This famous ship has a fascinating history. Built in Japan 1936-38 on a Soviet contract, Soya's delivery was canceled due to tension between the Empire and the USSR. Purchased by the IJN in 1939, Soya survived multiple US and British attacks in WW II, with damage and crew losses. Postwar, the vessel helped to repatriate refugees from Japanese territory seized and occupied by the USSR. After that, Soya enjoyed a long career as an ice breaker and rescue ship. In 1959, news outlets around the world reported Soya's rescue of two huskie dogs after severe weather had forced an earlier expedition to leave them behind. She is now a museum ship, restored to her original, 'as launched' commercial freighter configuration. The long career of this ship exemplifies the recovery and resurgence of the spirit of modern Japan. This model is from all new molds and does justice to this historic vessel. The full-hull model features 323 pieces and includes all deck fittings, float plane, helicopter and more. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.

Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: Sealed VG
$46
Still factory sealed but the seal has split. This hardbox issue or Monogram's venerable Tri-Motor is dated 1965 and if from the original molds, however, it contains decals for TWA 25th Anniversary C.A.A. flight (the earlier Four Star issues only had Byrd Antarctic markings). NOTE: the box looks 'excellent' or better in the photo but here is why it is only graded 'very good': while the kit is still sealed, a previous owner used clear tape to keep the splits together. Unfortunately, some of the tape is actually on the box top itself. I recommend using lighter fluid to soak and remove the tape; this is successful about 90% of the time. "Bestine Solvent" works better because it is just as strong but cannot stain (in about 10% of the cases, lighter fluid can leave a very light stain.)
