Still factory sealed. These decals are 'mint' condition and have always been stored in a climate controlled residence. Includes paint and markings guide. On this website are two articles that fully explain how to save or reproduce older decals; please read read these before using any older model kit or aftermarket decals. Because the USPS clearly states that any flexible envelope will be bent 90 degrees or more within 2 inches due to automatic sorting machines, I cannot send decals in a flexible envelope. And any decal reinforced with cardboard will be equal to or greater than 1/4" thick, which USPS says must go at the normal 'box' rate. There is no choice; because I will not knowingly send decals to destruction, they will only ship in a box. So to eliminate or save significantly on shipping charges, please order them with model kits. Likewise, if you only purchase decals, try to order enough decals make the shipping cost (per sheet) worth while.

1970s issue for rubber or 1/4 to 1/2A gas power. Could be made RC with today's small and light servos and receivers. Kit features traditional wood/tissue construction, detailed full size plans, building instructions, hardware, wheels and canopy material, rubber, insignia, tissue and propeller. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.

Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: NM
$165
Rare true first issue in investment-grade 'Near Mint' condition. This is the 'short' 1.25" high pre-'S' hardbox issue (vs. the later standard size 1.4" high box). This kit has the correct, short-lived 1st issue 2 piece stand as opposed to the later 4 piece stand. The stand with this kit has a base and an arm with three prongs. This stand was discontinued shortly after introduction as it broke very easily. The model is molded in the correct gloss silver and clear plastic. Inside, the kit is in excellent condition. It has never been started. All of the parts have been inventoried complete and it includes the decals and instructions. The instructions are the correct early version that show the 3-prong stand arm. The instructions are in 'excellent++' condition with typical yellowing as the only noticeable flaw. The decals are the correct early version by 'Colortone' and are in excellent condition. Typical yellowing and very slight edge curling are the only flaws. The box has great color and gloss, four solid & original corners, no fading, rips or tears, no missing litho and no tape - this box even missed the factory taping machine! Flaws include slight discoloring on the left as shown and very light, isolated edge wear. The original Bullock's Los Angeles price tag is on the left short side and inside is the original (and elaborate) Bullock's hand-written receipt.

Still factory sealed but the seal is split and starting to disintegrare on one end. This Big 'A' Logo issue is dated 1972 and this is likely the third release of this kit. Features full cockpit, pilot and copilot figures, rotating main and rear rotors and optional weapons load of miniguns or rocket pods. In the late 1960s Aurora realized that the older molds were out of date and modelers were demanding more realism. They made a new set of molds for ships, airplanes and helicopters. These were significant improvements as the new molds were on par with current offerings. This Cobra kit is one of the improved models.
