Please note that one propeller blade is broken but present; it fits back perfectly for a straightforward repair. Rare, early LS kit in a high gloss box top with very collectible artwork. Most likely from the early 1960s. Even at this early date, you can see why LS became legendary for quality. Features well molded parts with all fine recessed panel lines, retracting landing gear, opening piece canopy, movable ailerons, rudder and elevator and two bombs. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. Some of the LS molds are still used today by Hasegawa, testifying to their detail and accuracy.

From the 1960s and a beautifully detailed kit of one of the classic airliners of the 1930s. Imperial Airways equipped these aircraft with deluxe interiors and provided full service. Customers were thoroughly pampered and had superb views of the ground from only a few thousand feet. The kit has never been started. Very nicely molded kit with very fine raised panel detail. Kit includes cockpit and crew of two, two underwing anti-tank cannon and decals for either Hungarian Air Force 102/1 Dive Bomber Sq or Stab/Stukageschwader 2 Hans Rudel with 1000 Tanks Destroyed. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts decals and instructions. Frog is considered the father of injection molded model kits. The Lines Brothers opened Frog in 1932, capitalizing on the fever caused by Lindberg's solo transatlantic flight. Almost overnight the western populations became 'Air-Minded', and anything aviation was in high demand. Frog created a quality line of stick and tissue rubber powered aircraft and gliders as well as innovative ready-to-fly rubber powered aircraft that required no assembly. The box even contained a built-in rubber motor winder and fuselage holder. Model airplane flight competitions were popular in Great Britain, and one category was 'Rise Off the Ground', or ROG. By changing this to 'Flies Right Off the Ground', the FROG name was born. In 1936 Frog created a line of injection molded plastic models, the first such kit line in the world (Hawk sold a line of injection molded aircraft models in 1934 but they were factory assembled and painted). Named 'Penguin' after the bird that does not fly, the kits were innovative beyond the means of production. At a time when models were simply built by wingspan, the Penguin line was a constant 1/72 scale. Furthermore, a large 1/72 Short S.30 Empire class flying boat contained a full interior and lights! A line of accessories such as AA guns, tractors, hanger, ambulance, sound locator, searchlights and lighting kits were quickly added to the line. WWII caused a pause in production. After the war the box color changed from silver to green, and Penguin kits were also marketed in the USA. Production ended in 1950. Frog quickly expanded and released the Red, Orange, Black, Green, Gold Token, Spin and Comet series as well as Trail Blazers and several others. It is noteworthy that while most manufacturers in the 1940s/50 were making toy-like models, Frog attempted to make very realistic models. For example, 'detailing' kits with excessively large rivets was once very popular. Frog ignored this trend and continued to mold aircraft with fine panel lines and no rivets. As a result, Frog kits can be built into very realistic replicas. Production ended in the late 1970s, but Frog molds are still in use around the world.

Life-Like issue with with the original Pyro part number and A.J. Rudisill artwork. Most likely from the early to mid 1970s. This is a full hull, large scale model of Admiral Dewey's famous flagship. 1971 issue of this large-scale and well detailed kit with RAF South East Asian markings. Features a detailed R-2800 engine with removable access panels, fully detailed cockpit, pilot figure, rotating wheels and propeller, detailed gear wells and more. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. Decals are for GQ-F FL804 of 134 Sqdn., 1944-45. This aircraft is reported to have participated in the reconquest of Burma, and to have flown ground attack missions in support of the Allied landings at Rangoon. It appears the box artist may have intended to depict that operation (thanks to Dusty Rhodes for that information about the box art aircraft).

Maircraft was originally founded in the early or mid 1930s by Gordon Christoph and went by the name Aircraft Model Company. The company produced a typical line of solid 'profile cut' kits that required the usual high talent levels for carving and finishing. A former Comet Model Airplane & Supply Co. salesman, Jack Mair, bought the company in the early 1940s and renamed it Maircraft. This company was one of the handful of solid kit producers who issued models in a consistent 1/48 scale during the 1930s and 1940s (others included Hawk and Dyna-Model). This lead to one of the most desirable and rare model kits ever produced in the USA - the wood/plastic 1/48 United DC-3 model issued immediately after World War 2. Other than the P-61 and a few other Maircraft offerings, most were simple kits that sold for the low price of about 35 cents and gave the owners many hours of pleasurable work. This kit features a full size plan with instructions steps, 2D cut main parts, finished wheels and color insignia. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions.

Very rare; not even listed in John Burn's guide. Small scale kit that measures about 6.6 inches long when assembled. The kit is basic, featuring only 10 plastic parts. It is also designed for motorized operation, and comes with a big slow-rpm prop, rubber motor and torpedo-shaped weight holder and weight that hang from the bottom when you wish to operate it. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes instructions. The instructions are on the bottom of the box top.
