SALE!! Finally! A museum-quality 1/350 scale model kit of the SS Normandie - The World's Most Beautiful Ocean Liner. This nine-year project is a 100% new kit. Seven of those years were spent accurately modeling the ship from scratch in TurboCAD. All design work was done in CAD by Ken Friend, a master modeler and engineer who specialized in CAD/CAM/CAE Systems Management and Implementation. This limited-run kit represents the Normandie from her 1935 maiden voyage to New York and has over 1,000 individual parts. The hull and larger parts are pressure-cast resin from de-aired molds. There is one very large photoetched brass sheet for railings, ladders & fine details, a set of ultra-high resolution 3D printed davits, three sheets of real wood printed decking (laser printed so they are colorfast; not ink that can run), decals, flag sheet and a DVD with detailed, highly illustrated instructions including painting guide, step-by-step rigging instructions and research material. This is a previously owned kit; I sold this model years back and then purchased the buyers entire estate. The kit has never been started. This model has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions included. NOTE: this kit must be shipped insured.

Very, Very Rare. Early, colorful issue from the late 1950s. The kit is dated by the 'Sanwa Plastic' logo, which was normally used in the late 1950s up to 1960. Very nicely detailed for that time with fine (and sparse, not overdone) surface detail, opening bomb bay doors, working ailerons, elevators and rudder, rotating propellers and full landing gear. Molded in gloss dark green, black and clear. Includes factory glue tube. Inside, the model is factory new - all the parts and decals are still in the factory sealed clear bags. The decals are flat and in amazing 'near mint+' condition and the instructions in 'near mint' condition. Sanwa was one of Japan's earliest post-WWII kit producers, making model kits in the 1950s; some sources say 1955. Kits were marketed under Sanwa and Tokyo Plamo, with the general consensus being the the later logo came out around 1960 or later. Production ended in 1964, making all Sanwa kits rare and collectible. The entire line was extensive. It included very small scale tanks (some that were motorized), battleships in three scales with the larger ones motorized with dual prop drive, slot cars, civil sport boats and an electric outboard, a full line of hand gun models that actually shot plastic bullets, two fighter groups and bomber groups (probably Monogram), several different lines of scale aircraft, missile kits, scale (static) car models of early Japanese automobiles, at least 7 flying model aircraft that had electric and rubber motors, a 'Super Control Stand' P-51 that moved with a joystick and had an electric propeller and sound unit, two different lighthouses and a windmill, an air cushion boat, motor cycles, a diving submarine (electric) and a working (rubber band) George Washington Class SSBN and even a garden tractor with an electric motor. Just before going out of business, Sanwa issued some kits in conjunction with the 1964 Tokyo Olympic games - these kits even included a copy of an Olympic medal.

Very large kit of the oversized Luftwaffe transport that was originally designed for Operation Sealion, the invasion of Great Britain. The glider was towed by a He-111Z tug. The glider proved to be a bit dangerous, so the Luftwaffe installed engines on the aircraft; it was much more successful that way. This well detailed model has over 250 parts and features interior detail in the cargo bay, opened or closed bay doors, very good cockpit and more. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Wood Model Kit, Box Condition: Good++
$795
Very rare 1950s gift set. Long before injection molded kit were mass produced in the USA, Monogram created what are widely considered the finest pre-fabricated wooden kits with plastic details. The Speedee-Bilt series were flying models with pre-painted and cut wooden parts with plastic props, cowls, pilots, etc. The Superkits were smaller static models with precarved wooden parts and many plastic details. The kits themselves are rare today, but the gift set is very rare. Monogram issued very few gift sets for injection kits, and even fewer in the early 1950s for the wooden kits. The gift set consists of a special 'Christmas' box with a tray and lift-off top with a cello window. This one contains 2 Superkits (F-84 Thunderjet and F-51 Mustang) and 2 Speedee-Bilts (also the F-84 and F-51). The outer box is intact with the original cello and is in 'very good' displayable condition but is not perfect. It has edge wear, general wear, light staining (visible at the upper left) and two closed split corners. The four kits inside are in mint boxes and have never started. Each is 100% inventoried complete with all parts, decals and instructions present.

Rare. Based on the 1950s Yak-25 "S" kit, the Flashlight Whip Fly comes with USSR decals, flight ballast, handle, 12 feet of control line, control ring, colorful streamers for the jet engines and a underside pod which is a in-flight whistle! Never started. All parts and all paperwork are still in the factory sealed bag. The long side of the box shows the complete Whip-Fly series with the action box art, which includes H151 F9F-8 Cougar, H152 F-84F, H153 F-89D Scorpion, H154 F8U-1 Crusader, H155 F-39 Airacobra and H156 F-101A Voodoo. Although not listed yet, there was also a Whip-Fly Canberra, F-106 and Yak-25 Flashlight. The Whip-Fly series seemed like a good idea...at first. Revell quickly realized that spinning heavily-ballasted, sharp objects at dizzying speeds in or outside the home near groups of children was not the best idea. The series was quickly discontinued.
