Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: Sealed
$69
Very, very rare. Still factory staple sealed; this is a bagged kit with the factory paper header. Until now this kit was not known to exist; there is no mention of it in Burn's guide or anywhere on the internet. The model features recessed and raised surface detail, clear blisters, windows and cockpit window, retracting floats and more. There is a "Revell 'S' Style" base (but it's not the Revell base). What is more puzzling is that the artwork on the paper header is a copy of the Aurora first-issue PBY artwork. Please note that the header is damaged and missing some of the right hand section as shown.

Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: VG
$38
Have you ever wanted to build the world's first injection molded plastic kits? Well, now you can and for an affordable price. As you know, Frog in England produced the world's first plastic model kits starting back in 1938. Merlin Models receive permission for this very limited edition, exact replica of this historic Frog Penguin kit. Nicely molded and also includes photocopies of the original Penguin instructions. The kit has never been started. All parts and paperwork are still in the factory sealed bag. In the late 1930s, before WWII, Frog created the world's first line of injection molded plastic model kits. Since Frog stood for 'Flies Right Off the Ground' and Frog had a famous line of flying models, the world's first all injection molded kits were called Frog Penguin for the bird that does not fly. The Penguin Hart was among the early pre-war releases by Frog.
Wood Model Kit, Box Condition: Good+
$54
Beautiful kit from the 1950s made of quality Western Pine hardwood - no balsa. The carving is done to the final shape and when completed it makes an impressive model. Features all carved and smooth wooden parts, clear plastic canopy, full color decals, glue, sandpaper and special hardwood 'teardrop' shaped display stand. Never started. Inventoried complete with all parts and plans. Before plastic kits were introduced, Strombecker was famous as the premier hardwood preshaped model manufacturer. In the 1940s and 1950s, Strombecker kits were flawlessly engineered but not inexpensive. All wooden parts are hardwood and are precarved to shape - you only had to glue, sand and paint to finish them.

Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: VG+
$22
Small scale ship kit from the Table Top Navy series that are very well molded for their time. Can be built full hull or waterline and features propeller and shaft detail, separately molded island and other deck details and more. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. Many of the Pyro kits came from Eagle (then Eaglewall) molds in England. Eaglewall went out of business around 1962 and Pyro acquired at least some of the molds. Pyro reissued some of these kits in the mid 1960s with AJ Rudisill artwork. Evidently the line was successful, as Pyro then cut some of their own molds and expanded the series significantly. The earlier issues have the full color artwork and a three digit part number. Later issues have a 'B' or 'C' in front of the three digit kit number; some have simplified box art that is a modification of the original Rudisill paintings by painting out most of the background. Pyro issued these kits into the late 1960 when Life-Like took over the molds. Some were reissued by Life-Like.
