Very rare and even rarer in complete condition. This is the 1959 first and only issue of this classic Monogram models and certainly one of the 'Holy Grail' for the manufacturer. The model features 18 aircraft (102 parts total), all to a constant 1/240 scale. All aircraft have an in-flight configuration accurate down to the upward-swept wing angle on the B-52. The display is made complete with all aircraft riding on 'Flight Wires' that rise from the special blue stand. The large decal sheet is in amazing 'Near Mint+' condition. It is flat and 100% intact with no visible micro-cracking and no yellowing. The instructions and Air Power book are both in 'Excellent+++' condition with light yellowing as the only significant flaw. The kit has never been started; there is no assembly. The flight wires are still in the factory sealed clear bag. The plastic parts have been inventoried 100% complete. The box is rated 'Good'. It has 'excellent' color and gloss, four solid original corners, no repairs, no price tag or tag marks and no tears. Wear includes many lithograph missing 'chips' as shown; these are due to bug damage. These chips are on the box sides also but there are slightly fewer than on the top. There is one very light crease about 1 inch long at the lower left corner. This kit must be shipped with postal insurance and double-boxed.

Very rare and for the advanced model collector. This is the true first issue of the Mister Mulligan. It has a fascinating history for it is among the earliest injection molded kits produced in the United States. The Hawk model company was the most innovative in America and had been making constant 1/48 scale models in wood with metal accessories since the late 1920s. During the re-run of the World's Fair in 1933, Hawk may have made the world's first injection molded airplanes models - but they were not kits. The models were completely finished and were on display for the then-large sum of $25 each. The Mates brothers, who founded and ran Hawk, were quick to incorporate this new technology by replacing the metal detail parts with injection molded details to the wooden kits in the late 1930s. During the war, Hawk put it's injection molding knowledge to work making ID models for the US Armed Forces. Originally there was a nation-wide program to have children and adults make these from wood, but consistency was an issue - injection molded solved this problem. Immediately after WWII in 1946, Hawk made the Curtiss Racer model injection molded in black tenite. The box was a simple one-color affair. This may have been the first injection molded airplane kit produced in the USA; another contender is the Varney's PT-17. Both met a very cool reception at hobby shops. Hawk quickly changed the Curtiss box to two colors and added box artwork while molding the kit in bright yellow acetate. In 1947 Hawk approached toy stores since hobby shops were giving the kit poor promotion. The toy stores did much better. Spurred on by toy store sales in '47, Hawk added four classic racers in '48, all molded in acetate - the Gee Bee, Howard Ike, Laird Solution and the Supermarine S6B. In 1949 Hawk molded them in a much more stable polystyrene and additional Thompson Trophy Races were introduced to the line; this Mister Mulligan kit is one of those. It is molded in high-gloss white plastic, clear and with a dark brown pilot figure. Inside, the kit is factory-new. All parts are inventoried 100% complete and includes the correct instructions. The factory 'krinkle' bag is present but has split open as they often do. Includes the correct instructions with the '703' part number and advises the use of "...carbon tetracholoride" as a cement because plastic model glue was still not widely available. The instructions are also a detailed painting guide because at this point Hawk did not furnish decals with their plastic kits. The box is in very good condition with great colors. The box has not been crushed, bent or flattened, which is unusual since this type of box is very fragile and Hawk made a point of replacing them shortly after this kit came out. The box displays 'Near Mint' but is graded 'Excellent++' because there is some edge wear on one edge and some isolated, very light general shelf wear as shown. The instructions are in 'excellent' condition.

2012 reissue from the original molds. This very well detailed truck features over 250 pieces, over 100 in chrome plate, a full rolling chassis build up like the actual vehicle, tilting sleeper cab, dual exhaust, fifth wheel assembly, hollow vinyl truck tires, and fully detailed cab with air ride driver's seat and sleeper compartment. Never started. Most parts are still in the factory sealed bags; the parts that are not sealed have been inventoried complete. Includes decals and photo copied instructions. NOTE: the original instructions are missing, only the photocopies are present. The very top left of the decal sheet has a 2" x 3/4" section neatly cut out and missing. These are the "bull" logos used on an alternate version (not the box top version).

Rare limited issue. Hardbox is dated 1965. Issued as a promotion with the famous TV show "12 O'Clock High," which centered on the exploits of USAAF B-17s flying over Hitler's Germany. Has many working features: detailed engine with removable cowling, full cockpit and retractable landing gear. Molded in gloss olive drab and clear. The kit has no assembly, but NOTE: the interior parts are painted with one thin coat of zinc chromate green. There is no other painting. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. Other kits in this rare series include the B-17 Bomber Formation (3 kits with a special stand and battle-damaged decals), P-38 Lighting, ME-109 (Bf-109), P-47, B-25, B-26 and Fw-190.

Nice early Midwest RC kit from the early to mid 1960s when the Galloping Ghost single-channel proportional system was at its height. As was typical of most of the super-stable designs of the period, the aircraft flew itself most of the time. This model came from the estate of a very active and particular early aircraft kit collector. Features quality die-cut balsa and plywood, factory-cut wood blocks & stock, fully shaped wing trailing edges, fully formed wire landing gear, balsa sheet stock, die-cut clear windshield, covering material and more. This is the special 1985 issue produced exclusively for Milslides of England. From the original 1974 molds and well detailed at that time. The actual model represents the night fighter version of the Beaufighter with airborne interception radar. The Beaufighter was flown by aces such like Flt./Lt. "Cat's Eyes" Cunningham. His final score stood at 20 victories and his aircraft is depicted in this model. The model features detailed Bristol Hercules engines, removable cowling, two flight crew, very good cockpit, optional position landing gear, radar antenna, rotating propellers & wheels and more. Complete engine includes crankcase, 9 cylinders, two magnetos, carburetor air heater, fuel pump, oil pump, accessories, mounting ring, carburetor and fuel system, vinyl wires for the distributor blocks and dual ignition system and more. A name plate label is included with a Wright J-5 decal. It features operating dive brakes, trigger released center bomb that swings clear of the propeller arc before dropping, retractable landing gear, rotating & elevating rear machine gun, optional position tear canopy, rotating propeller & wheels and more. Also includes figures of the pilot, gunner, armorer, LSO (landing signal officer), 4 bombs, bomb cart, and LSO wind screen...almost everything but the carrier deck for a diorama. Never started. Iinventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. Please note that the box displays as 'Near Mint' condition but it's graded 'Excellent++' because there are creases on the left short side and a small piece of clear tape at the center of all sides.
