Revell American Firefighters Hose Reel - With Horses and Firemen, 1/48, F202-98

First Revell issue dated 1953. Features two highly detailed horses, hitch, carriage with frame detail, flexible hose, rope and metal chain, along with two firefighters and a Dalmatian dog. Molded in the correct white, red and gold plastic. It has never been started and has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions. The American Firefighters series has a very interesting history. Marlin first cut the molds in 1952 and issued the six original American Firefighters (Chemical and Ladder, Steamer, Hook and Ladder, Water Tower, Aerial Ladder and Hose Reel) in 1952. Revell signed a marketing agreement with Marlin in 1953. Five of the kit were released with the Revell name and marketing name 'Collectors Kits, Closter N.J.' Revell added the horse parts as they were not originally part of the Marlin issues. The kits made excellent display pieces, but they never caught the imagination of young men like jet aircraft did. The five molds were shipped to Brazil. After run for Kikoler (Revell Brazil's Distributor), they were shipped back to the USA but the molds were lost at sea. This issue is from when Revell still had the marketing agreement, as it says 'Trade Mark Copyright 1953 Marlin Toy Co. Inc' on the box top and 'Collector's Kits, Inc, Closter, N.J.' on the side.

From the early 1960s and from the famous well-detailed Renwal 'Blueprint' molds. The missile is over 9 inches long and not the small-scale Revell issue but from completely different molds. Features 138 parts with the missile in white and the truck/launcher in olive drab. Very well detailed inside and out. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried and NOTE: Missing one #61 short drive shaft and #52 pintle. Otherwise complete with all other parts and includes decals and instructions.

1967 Pyro issue from original molds. In the early to mid 1960s the Pyro company chose many of it's kit subjects based more on historical significance than popularity. Luckily for us, Pyro not only made these kits but did an excellent job for the time. The Pyro car models are based on the actual cars that Pyro engineers and designers had access to. In some cases, the specific car and owner is on the box. The model includes rubber tires, brass plated & colored and clear plastic parts. Features detailed chassis, complete motor and interior and a removable hood or 'bonnet.' This kit has not been started. Features fully detailed F-2 Tandem suspension, operating 'Select-A-Point" sliding suspension, air brake system with flexible lines, mud guards, rear doors that open realistically, two position support assembly either 'raised' or lowered for static display and more. This hard-to-find model includes all three quality Frog kits from the original molds. This was part of a short-lived marketing plan to sell Frog kits through AMT in the USA. These kits have never been started. All three models are still in the internally sealed factory bags. All decals are present (the Southern Cross and Spirit of St. Louis; the Bleriot did not come with decals). Includes original instructions for the Bleriot & Fokker and photocopied instructions for the Spirit of St. Louis.
