1965 hardbox issue in beautiful 'Near Mint' condition and with Tom Morgan boxart. This is a fine quality model that features parts for float or land versions, a crew of two and a unique water base for displaying the seaplane variant. Includes decals for the US and Dutch Military versions. Molded in gloss silver and clear plastic. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Hawk's instructions show photos of the civil ST version but they did not provide decals for it.

This is promotional model kit from Singapore Airlines and was probably either given away in First Class or could be purchased at a company store or magazine. The small scale model has 7 pieces including the display stand and is already molded in the correct colors - white fuselage & vertical stabilizer and silver wings, engine and horizontal stabilizer. The display base is black. Includes a comprehensive decal sheet (for this scale) with all side stripes, windows, doors, cockpit windows, tail colors and more. The gold is especially reflective. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions, which are on the back of the box. This model is in the 'in flight' configuration only.

1989 issue that is a perfect size for a desk top model of this fascinating Mach 3 bomber that rode it's own supersonic shock wave. Includes decals for the aircraft on the box top and the clear the early 1960s futuristic clear Lindberg stand that allows you to display the aircraft in any flight attitude you desire. Unusual 1961 Revell hardbox in "Excellent+ condition. It is marked as both a 'Master Modelers Kit' in the upper left and 'Air Power.' This issue includes a full color Master Modelers Stamp (for the B-52/X-15). Inside, the aircraft kit parts are the same kit as the Pre-S version. Never started. From the mid 1960s and from the quality Frog molds. Features fine panel lines for a realistic model, separately molded rudder, elevator and ailerons, pilot, co-pilot and gunner figures, detailed engines, rotating propellers and more. Inventoried with all parts, decals and instructions present. This box has some of my favorite Jo Kotula boxart. Air Lines History: In an attempt to expand the USA market for FROG kits, management partnered with Testors in the USA from 1964 to 1966. The kits, decals and instructions were made in England, then imported where Testors created the boxes with colorful trading cards on the back. Testors comissioned the famous Jo Kotula to do much of the box art; he was already established as one of the premier American commericial aviation artist who started in the 30s with many of the covers for Model Airplane News (MAN). The trading cars tastefully display the quality Kotula boxart without the logo and kit name. Some kits contain a Testors color painting guide also, but it is not specific to any model. It is worth noting that FROG kits were also sold by AMT (as AMT-Frog) and even by Hasegawa (as Hasegawa-Frog).

Dated 1988 and from the original, high quality 1970s molds. Very finely detailed for that time with 76 pieces and includes decals for both aircraft. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. In the 1930s Pan Am was a household word in the USA for their romantic foreign routes and the glamorous 'China Clippers' that crossed the Pacific Ocean, stopping at such ports as Wake Island. Pan Am's attention soon turned to the Atlantic. Since non-stop service would be needed, a new aircraft was designed. The Boeing 314 was chosen. This huge flying boat started flying the Atlantic mail in 1939 with a trip over 26 hours long. Before the war, the 314 fleet flew the Pacific, Atlantic and other routes. The airliner was a palace compared to the cramped jets and limited service of today. The flight deck compared to the bridge of a ship and housed 6 crew. It was connected to the passenger cabin by a spiral staircase. The luxurious cabins were divided into 5 standard compartments, each seating 10 passengers, a dining salon for 14, a special compartment for four and a deluxe bridal suite. 74 could be carried on day trips and 40 when sleeping quarters for all passengers was required. Chefs prepared gourmet meals while passengers lounged in deeply cushioned wicker chairs and enjoyed a grand view of the scenery from about 5,000 feet. The age of the Clippers ended shortly after WWII when land planes could operate at much higher speeds than the flying boats.
