Second issue 'Famous Fighters' hardbox is dated 1957 with great Jo Kotula artwork. This is part of a popular and very successful series of 1/48 scale WWI aircraft that Aurora started in 1956 and added to well into the 1960s. Many of the line were in production right up until the demise of Aurora in the mid 1970s. Molded in correct olive drab and black plastic. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Very rare 1960s Type Three Logo issue which features optional position passenger and baggage doors, optional position landing gear, 'Motostep' mobile boarding stairs and more. Includes a four-view paint guide and a large & extensive decal sheet for any one of three BOAC aircraft. NOTE: this kit has very minor and 'near mint' quality sub-assembly as follows: doors glued to fuselage sides. There is no other assembly. Several small parts are very neatly painted including tires & hubs, gear struts and intake compressor fans. There is no other painting. 1970s reissue of the older and still very popular kit. Features traditional wood/tissue construction, quality printwood, stripwood, nose block & dowels, fully finished wood wheels and thrust button, clear canopy material, rubber, tissue, propeller and detailed full size plans with building instructions. The model has not been started. Inventoried 100% complete. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.

Rare Revell of Japan issue that is from the late 1960s or early 1970s. Still factory sealed and the very rare first issue from the 1950s. The paper header has the correct first Airfix logo and is in 'excellent' condition. Molded in the correct silver plastic with clear canopy and early, clear two-piece 'teardrop' base display stand. This is the first logo used by Airfix with plastic model kits. Collectors usually refer to it as 'Type One' or the 'T1' logo and it was used in the 1950s.
