This is the 1973 issue with the Mattel logos on the side and the 80 cent price extension on the part number; the box is the 1/75" taller version. This is a very finely molded kit with markings for the 'High Hat' Squadron from CV-3 Saratoga in the 1930s.

First issue hardbox from 1958 with famous 'S' box art. Not the 1990s reissue. This model kit features the Redstone Ballistic Missile, portable launch pad, mobile radar van, testing unit and three man crew. Never started. The box top displays as 'excellent' but is graded 'very good++' because there is are two small closed tears on the tape at the middle of the left long side.

The original box art was retained for the reissue and it has features the X-3 aircraft, tow truck, tow bar, driver and the famous special clear Revell Swivel Base Display Stand.
