SALE!! Finally, the Pride of the Italian Line in 1/350 scale! The SS Rex is from the same team that brought you the 1/350 SS Normandie Ocean Liner. This four year project is a 100% new model and represents the Rex in her glory years of the mid 1930s. All design work was done in CAD by Ken Friend, a master modeler, designer and builder of experimental engines and test equipment and an engineer who specialized in CAD/CAM/CAE Systems Management and Implementation. All of the smaller parts are printed on ultra-high resolution 3D SLA resin printers. These parts meet and often exceed what is possible with injection molded plastic. Only the larger parts (hull, deck pieces and funnels)are cast resin. These are pressure-cast from de-aired molds to minimize air bubbles. The Italian Line advertised that "The Southern Route Is the Lido Deck Route." By virtue of avoiding the stormy and cold North Atlantic, travelers experienced a true outdoor lifestyle. The Rex was intentionally designed for this. For this model, extensive research and time was spent capturing the exact look of the colorful 1st and 2nd Class Aft Pool Areas- from the changing room & showers, grab rope on the pool, pool slide, stairs & diving boards, tables with umbrellas, recessed (covered) 1st Class Restaurant/Lounge and more. Because of the superior performance of 3D Printing, over 90% of the usual PE (photoetched) metal parts are now 3D printed resin. This is a vast improvement as they are no longer flat, but are true to the shape of the prototype. This also makes for a nearly complete model "out-of-the-box." Includes a real wood deck. NOTE: railings are the only parts not included with the model shown. However, 1/350 PE ship railings are very easy to locate from a large number of sources; I will refer the buyer to the ones that I like to use but you can always use your preference.

SALE!! Finally! A museum-quality 1/350 scale model kit of the SS Normandie - The World's Most Beautiful Ocean Liner. This nine-year project is a 100% new kit. Seven of those years were spent accurately modeling the ship from scratch in TurboCAD. All design work was done in CAD by Ken Friend, a master modeler and engineer who specialized in CAD/CAM/CAE Systems Management and Implementation. This limited-run kit represents the Normandie from her 1935 maiden voyage to New York and has over 1,000 individual parts. The hull and larger parts are pressure-cast resin from de-aired molds. There is one very large photoetched brass sheet for railings, ladders & fine details, a set of ultra-high resolution 3D printed davits, three sheets of real wood printed decking (laser printed so they are colorfast; not ink that can run), decals, flag sheet and a DVD with detailed, highly illustrated instructions including painting guide, step-by-step rigging instructions and research material. This is a previously owned kit; I sold this model years back and then purchased the buyers entire estate. The kit has never been started. This model has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions included. NOTE: this kit must be shipped insured.

From 1994. The 7TP was designed in 1933 by the Research Office of the State Engineering Works of Poland. It was based on the double-turret design by Vickers. In this version, the two weak turrets were replaced by one strong one with a very efficient 37mm anti-tank gun. This was a large improvement over the original design. The actual kit is well detailed and finely molded. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.

This 1956 issue has the very colorful 'S' artwork that has made these kits so desirable today. This model is very well molded for that time and features all recessed panel lines, opening front cargo door, rotating counter-rotating propellers and more. Molded in dark sea blue and includes the famous clear Revell 'Globe' display stand. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. In 1945 the US Navy asked Convair to develop a large flying boat based on the new World War II technology and the developing turbo-prop engines. Convair's proposal was the Model 117. high-wing flying boat with Allison T40 engines driving six-bladed contra-rotating propellers. The design has a slender body, high-mounted high lift wing and fixed floats. The Navy was impressed enough to order two prototypes in May of 1946. The first prototype was designated XP5Y-1 and first flew off San Diego on April 18, 1950. In August the aircraft set a turboprop endurance record of eight hours six minutes. Although impressed with the design, the Navy decided not to build the patrol version and decided to make her into a passenger and cargo aircraft. A total of eleven aircraft were built. The first two prototypes built were in P5Y configuration, armed with 8,000 lb (3,600 kg) of munitions (bombs, mines, depth charges, torpedoes) and five pairs of 20 mm cannon in fore and aft side emplacements and a tail turret. The next five were built as R3Y-1 aircraft, intended for troop transport and inflight tanker service. The final six were built as the R3Y-2 variant with a upward-hinged nose and high cockpit for heavy roll-on-roll-off transport duties. In this way it was thought the design would function as a 'Flying LST.' In practice, it was discovered that it was almost impossible for the pilots to hold the aircraft nose-on to the beach while it was unloaded. These were subsequently converted into inflight refueling tankers. However, they had a short life because of the unsolvable reliability problems that plagued the Allison T40 turboprop engines. That fate befell most of the T40-powered aircraft, like the Douglas A2D Skyshark.

From the 1960s. This wide 'White' box issue has action-packed artwork showing part of a box formation of B-24s at the moment of "Bombs Away!" Guns blaze at attacking fighters while flak burst close in. One B-24 is going down with the starboard wing in flames. You cannot say that Craftmaster artwork was boring! This was a well detailed kit for that time which features a basic cockpit, crew stations, rotating turrets & elevating guns, working ailerons, elevators and rudders, retractable landing gear, rotating propellers & wheels, optional position crew entry door & ladder and more. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. These decals are 'mint' condition and have always been stored in a climate controlled residence; however. Includes paint and markings guide. On this website are two articles that fully explain how to save or reproduce older decals; please read read these before using any older model kit or aftermarket decals. Because the USPS clearly states that any flexible envelope will be bent 90 degrees or more within 2 inches due to automatic sorting machines, I cannot send decals in a flexible envelope. And any decal reinforced with cardboard will be equal to or greater than 1/4" thick, which USPS says must go at the normal 'box' rate. There is no choice; because I will not knowingly send decals to destruction, they will only ship in a box. So to eliminate or save significantly on shipping charges, please order them with model kits. Likewise, if you only purchase decals, try to order enough decals make the shipping cost (per sheet) worth while.
