The emergency vehicles race down the runway ready to douse the flaming engine. The pilot has the canopy open to clear the smoke or to make a hasty exit…or both. This is the larger format box version of this kit and has black sides. The smaller box is kit #6-39. There are at least three known Craftmaster box variants with this box art - the small box one 6-89 and two kits sharing #1223-50; one has black side panels and one has white.

NOTE: he built major and minor sub assemblies and often details also (turrets, lower tubs, hatches, main guns, etc) to 'professional' quality. Many of these do have major assembly. 1970s very large scale kit with 54 inch wingspan. For rubber or gas free flight or RC (radio control). This is a reissue of a much older Comet kit. Features traditional wood/tissue construction with high-quality balsa pre-cut stringers and spars, balsa printwood, detailed full size plans, building instructions, wheels, rubber, tissue, prop shaft and wooden thrust bearing and a big balsa pre-carved (but not completely finished) propeller. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. Please note that the box is complete but has stains and wear as shown. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.

Still factory sealed. Very rare. Beautifully molded resin kit with cast metal details, rubber tires and extruded airfoil strut material. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes instructions. This aircraft was the first of the famous Nieuport V-Strutter series. It first arrived for service in 1915 as a two seat aircraft. A number of them were converted to one-seat fighters. This aircraft was ordered by the RNAS, RFC, Belgium, Russian (alternative cowl included for this version) and French Air Services. Color references and known serial numbers are given in the instructions.
