Rare kit from 1959 and the only aircraft model ever made by Adams. This was a fantastic kit for the time and features very fine raised panel lines with recessed control surface outlines, retractable landing gear, pilot & ejection seat, opening canopy and missiles that actually launch from the central pod. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Adams was founded by Steve Adams and released plastic assembly kits in the late 1950s. The company was innovative and the general quality of most kits was very high for the time- so much that builders (not just collectors) still seek the kits today. Adams is best known today for a series of military vehicles and missiles, although they also released an aircraft (Draken), helicopter (YH-41), balloon (La Coquette) and ship (SS Savannah). Some of these appeared in gift sets as well. The Adams smaller scale (1/40) Atomic Cannon, Hawk Missile Battery, Honest John, Vanguard (1/80) and Thor (1/87)missiles and other kits are still sought after today. Combinations of these kits were issued in gift sets, which are very desirable collector's items today. In the late 1950s, Adams entered into a joint venture with Revell, and several of the military kits were released under the Revell label, such as the Jeep among others. Around 1960 there was a disagreement between Adams and Revell, and the agreement was terminated. Sometime after this, Adams quit the plastic model business, and Life-Like purchased most of the Adams molds.

Priced at $7410.00, The 1958 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible was powered by a 365 cubic inch, 335hp V8 Engine with 3 x 2 Barrel Carburetors (known as 'Tri-Power') and a Hydra-Matic Transmission. This detailed model features full engine and engine compartment, real front and rear metal coil spring suspension, separately molded hood (with hinges), trunk lid and doors, steerable front wheels, detailed interior & under body and more. Usually molded in white (body), red (interior), black (chassis and underbody), chrome, clear and black with rubber tires. Never started. Rare, original hardbox issue dates from the late 1964 or early 1965. This issue features all parts to build your choice of stock, competition or custom. Features good suspension, detailed engine that can be built stock or blown, opening deck lid, full interior and much more. Molded in the correct white, clear, red-tinted clear, chrome plate and with rubber tire, metal axles and metal body screws. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The large decals sheet is flat, 100% intact and in amazing 'near mint' condition; the same goes for the instructions. There are tire burns as noted: radiator support (moderate and repairable); underside of custom hood (light and repairable)and one edge of the air cleaner (easily repaired).

Includes the chrome plated parts shown in the photo. The chrome plating is in 'near mint' condition with only very slight and small flaws. These are from the original Jo-Han molds but are likely reproductions made in the 1990s. They came with a collection of promo bodies, windshields and chrome parts. I am 99% sure that these parts will also work on the Jo-Han model kit (and not just the promo).

Very rare and most likely from the late 1930s. StromBecker was famous for their line of precarved hardwood kits and they are considered the finest ever made. The carving is done to the final shape which makes them remarkably pre-fabricated. This model features a completely carved to shape fuselage, wings and horizontal & vertical stabilizers & more, hardwood wing strut material, an envelope of powdered CASCO wood glue, sanding stick and two grits of sandpaper. When built it makes an impressive desk top display. NOTE: Builder kit only, please read carefully for the condition. NOTE: this kit has minor and 'excellent' quality sub-assembly as follows: rudder to fuselage; pylon to wing bottom. There is no other assembly. Inventoried and NOTE: missing one engine nacelle (the other is present and an ideal pattern since they are identical). Missing (1) of (2) float blocks, both propellers and two brads (very small nails). Otherwise includes all other parts and detailed instructions. The main center of the box in intact but heavily worn; the two large end flaps are 70% present but all four small side box flaps are missing. There is tape, etc on the box, hence the 'poor+' rating.

This kit features traditional wood/tissue construction with quality balsa printwood, stripwood, fully formed wheels, spars and wood stock as required, plastic prop, covering tissue and detailed, full-size plans and building instructions. (Please note, the kit is factory sealed so the exact contents are not know for sure; Comet was renown for slightly varying the content of stick-and-tissue kits across the years.) Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.
