![]() LST (Landing Ship Tank) by Paul Lindberg VG++ Injection Molded old
| Rare first Lindberg issue from the 1950s with Ray Gaedke artwork. The box has the correct first circle logo. This kit was originally produced by Varney in 1944. It was novel at the time as it had a wooden hull, cardstock but all injection molded tenite deck parts and details. When the early Varney aircraft and ship kits did not sell well, Gorden Varney sold the molds for the kit to O-lin (Olsen and Lindberg). O-Lin reworked the kit using a vacuform hull, cardstock deck, metal railings and tenite parts. When Lindberg took full control of O-lin, he modified the molds for a third time so the kit has metal railings and all other parts are injection molded. That is this model. NOTE: this kit has some assembly. Some deck fittings (winches, vents, aft gun tub and gun) have been glued as well as the upper rear superstructure. Quality of assembly is very good. The kit has been inventoried complete with all parts, decals, flags, metal railings and correct first logo instructions. | |||

![]() PT Boat by Paul Lindberg Exc Injection Molded old
| Very rare 1950s Lindberg 1st issue with the round logo. This kit was originally produced by Varney in 1944. It was novel at the time as it had a wooden hull, cardstock deck but all injection molded tenite deck parts and details. But the world was not ready for this type of kit and dealers were hesitant to carry it - which resulted in low sales. Gorden Varney sold the molds for the kit to O-lin (Olsen and Lindberg). O-Lin reworked the kit using a vacuform hull, cardstock and tenite parts. When Lindberg took full control of O-lin, he went to an injection molded hull, colorful cardstock 'wood' deck and all polystyrene parts. That is this model. The kit has not been started and is 100% complete with all plastic parts, cardstock deck, metal parts, decals and correct first logo instructions. | |||
