Flagon M was a modification of a standard Su-15 with R13-300 engines and the new 'Typhoon M' radar. Wings and landing gear were also changed. The tests took place in 1969 and were very successful; the type became one of the main fighter-interceptors in the 1970s/80s.

Limited edition dated 1998. This model is well molded with special issue resin conversion parts, 63 pieces, full cockpit, detailed landing gear wells, very fine raised panel lines, standing pilot figure and optional position landing gear and canopy. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. The amazing Shinden was a radical design and the first canard aircraft in Japan. The basic design was first tested in the MXY6 motor glider with a 22 hp engine in 1943. The tests were considered a success, and design of the J7W1 begane in June of 1944. Various configurations were tried, and the prototype modeled here has the rear mounted 2000 hp engine, 6 blade prop, 20 degree sweep back to the wing, two vertical stabilizers and four nose mounted 30mm cannon. It flew two weeks before the end of WWII but never saw combat.

Still factory sealed. This 19 inch wingspan kit is designed for free flight with 'easy conversion to control line or R/C flying.' Includes an innovative system for automatically dropping 'propaganda leaflets' in flight. Sterling was a famous manufacturer dating back to the 1930/40s flying model craze. Although they continued to produce kits for decades after the flying model slump following World War II, they eventually fell victim to the general lack of interest in modeling that occurred in the early 1980s. I always considered Sterling kits to be deluxe kits as they featured color decals, high-grade die cut balsa, vacuform plastic detail parts, plastic wheels (if required), finished wire landing gear, rubber motor and plastic prop, full size plans with instruction details and full instructions for conversion to RC or control line.
