Contains the colorful United DC-7 and all the accessories shown on the box top - Texaco fuel truck, boarding stairs, United Red Carpet, stanchions, tow tractor with tow bar, baggage truck with three baggage carts and figures for the pilot, refueler, model, stewardess, camera man and two drivers for the tow and baggage tractors. The box is in exceptional condition with like-new color and gloss, four solid corners, no tape or tags, no tape or tag marks, no fading and no litho damage. Light and even general wear are the only flaws. Inside, the kit has never been started. It is complete. The aircraft small parts are still sealed in the factory bag. The aircraft parts that were never factory sealed have been inventoried complete. The airport parts have been inventoried complete (they are in the original bag but it has been opened). Very nicely detailed with fine raised panel detail, cockpit, open/closed bomb bay doors with internal iron bomb load, tail "stinger" and detailed landing gear with good wheel well detail. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. NOTE: decals have stains on the backing paper but the actual transfers have no stains. However, there is age micro-cracking. Please see the two articles (located on this website) on how to restore or reproduce older decals. The B-47 was a very advanced aircraft at the time. The XB-47 first flew in 1947. The big jet's speed was equal to or greater than all current fighter aircraft, so it received radar-controlled twin 20mm cannons in the tail as the only guns. Through the use of mid-air refueling, the B-47 gave SAC it's first all-jet force for nuclear or regular bomb delivery. Although it was tricky to fly, Stratojets flew into the mid 1960s. A program to strengthen the wings for low-level attack was responsible for prolonging the service life.
