1/48  #400-69  Hawk
Grumman F9F Panther - Picture Gallery Issue
VG   Injection Molded   old
$59

Hard-to-find kit from the mid 1950s. The 'Picture Galley' issues had a colorful but short life. When Hawk moved from wooden kits to injection molded kits, they utilized the one piece 'flip top' boxes with one or two color printing. Sales were initially poor. Realizing that more color was needed, they went to the 'hardbox' design, which was medium weight cardboard with a colorful litho 'slick' glued to it. The litho slick allowed more colors to be used, so Hawk sought out an artist who began painting Hawk's first hardbox artwork - the Picture Gallery. After a short period of time, however, the artist became ill- hence the short production run. Artist Bill Campbell was contracted to fill his shoes. Hawk was so happy that Bill was used from that point on with other artists as well. Molded in gloss dark blue with a brown pilot and green-tinted clear canopy, teardrop stand base and stand arm. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. The decals have insect damage to the backing paper but not the actual transfers.

1950s issue with excellent box art. The kit inside is a near-copy of the Highway Pioneers Model T. 1/450  #3600-4-500  ITC
SS France (Norway) French Line Ocean Liner
Good   Injection Molded   old
$225

Very rare. First and only issue from 1963; very shortly after this kit was issued, ITC discontinued all plastic kit production. This is a large 1/450 scale kit of the SS France, one of the most beautiful ocean liners of all time. Very good detail for the time. Features full hull that is 24.75 inches long, 124 parts, 2 winged funnels, 3 anchors, 4 propellers, 2 launches, 20 lifeboats, 2 whaleboats, detailed mast, kingposts and superstructure. The kit is molded in black (hull) , red (funnels and fittings) and ivory (promenade and superstructure) to minimize painting like in the ITC United States. Kit also includes a beautiful letter (with a color print of the France on the letterhead) from Georges Croisile, the Commandant of the French Line, introducing the kit and welcoming you onboard the real France one day. The kit has never been started. The red parts and most ivory parts are still sealed in the factory bags. In this issue, the lifeboats came in an envelope. The parts that are not factory sealed have been inventoried complete including four metal shafts, the flag sheet, decals, rigging lines and instructions. NOTE: the davits are molded as one part with the main lifeboats. Three are broken; two are present and one is missing. The hull had cracks and breaks are the stern. The repair is strong and done correctly from the inside, so there is no visible glue outside. See photos for details. The repair can be hard to see, so I took close ups in harsh light.
1/25  #C502-200  Pyro
1948 Lincoln Continental
Good   Injection Molded   old
$38

Mid 1960s release from the original older molds. The only larger scale kit of this classic car. Edsel Ford himself sketched the design for the large V-12 equipped convertible with the assistance of Bob Gregory. The cars were incredibly popular. This was likely to be due to the good looks and not he powerplant; it made only 125 hp and was always troublesome. Good kit for it's time with detailed engine, removable hood and convertible top, and molded in blue, clear, chrome and with real rubber tires. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions. NOTE: instructions are photocopies.
1/48  #153  Renwal
1931 Cadillac V-16 Phaeton - Fleetwood Body
Fair   Injection Molded   old
$32

This is one of a wonderful and extensive line of 1/48 car kits from Renwal. Dates from the 1960s. Idea for use in 1/48 dioramas with aircraft, armor or for use in O Scale train layouts. Renwal did an excellent job on engineering and detail for these kits. Features a one piece main upper body, one piece lower body with fenders, complete interior, plated bumpers, grill and many other plated parts as required, separately molded front axle/suspension and rear axle/drive shaft, clear windows, separately molded headlights with clear lenses and rubber tires. Molded in high gloss green, chrome, gloss black, clear, red and with rubber tires. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including instructions.
1/32  #C342-125  Pyro
1932 Lincoln KB Sport Convertible
Fair   Injection Molded   old
$38

1965 Pyro issue from original molds. In the early to mid 1960s the Pyro company chose many of it's kit subjects based more on historical significance than popularity. Luckily for us, Pyro not only made these kits but did an excellent job for the time. The Pyro car models are based on the actual cars that Pyro engineers and designers had access to. The model includes real rubber tires, chrome plated parts, clear windshields and light lenses and red injection molded parts. Features detailed chassis with suspension, gas tank and steering linkage, complete motor and interior, spoked wheels, optional convertible top and removable hood. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including instructions.
