The Stag Hound was designed by the famous Donald McKay and was launched on December 7, 1850. She is famous for her great speed and turned a nice profit for her owners. The most notable event was when the Stag Hound was asked to take a copy of President Lincoln's inaugural address to London. During this run, she raced the steamer 'America' and won easily. Shortly after this she was lost off Brazil to a spontaneous combustion of her coal cargo. The crew successfully abandoned ship. The captain was the last to leave. He lowered the American Flag, wrapped it around himself and jumped overboard. 1966 hardbox issue that is very nicely detailed like all early Revell sailing ships. Even includes a factory-sealed medium size tube of Revell cement that is still good. The kit is molded in black, wood tan and white and includes very realistic pre-molded ratlines, running and standing rigging thread, vacuform sails (in excellent condition), cutting guide for the ratlines and detailed diagrams for standing and running rigging. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

There was some debate among collectors if the Korris Kars were just slot car bodies or complete kits - this is clearly a complete kit with body, underside, interior, silver grill and engine details, tires, axles, decals, electric motor and hardware. True first issue from 1956 has the box art that made these models so famous and desirable today. Please note, this is a real first issue with no rivet detail at all. In all later issues, Revell modified the molds by adding that detail to all outside panels. Nicely molded for the time with all recessed panel lines, opening front cargo door, drive-off ramp, rotating counter-rotating dual propellers and the clear Revell 'Globe' display stand. The sunroof Beetle kit features clear windshields and side windows, real rubber tires, chrome plated parts (none of those three came with earlier issues), complete engine and luggage compartments, opening hood and trunk, detailed interior, front seat backs that fold forward, luggage for the trunk, motor stand and two mechanics. Pyro Plastics was a Union, New Jersey manufacture that is well known for it's esoteric kit line.

But on these kits he cut the sprue (trees) with the part numbers still attached to each number, so the parts are loose. Because of that, I have not inventoried these kits. NOTE: he built minor sub assemblies (cockpit tubs, wing halves, etc) to 'professional' quality. Again, these kits are sold not inventoried and AS IS hence the very low price.

Well detailed for this small size with excellent molding, full hull, engraved wood plank and grain detail, many separately molded deck fittings, pre-molded rat lines, billowing sails and display stand. 4.5 inches long when assembled. NOTE: has assembly and paint. The hull halves and deck (3 parts) are assembled to 'excellent' quality. There is no other assembly. The hull and deck are painted to only 'good' quality.
