Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: Good
$375
Very, very rare promotional model, especially in this condition and with the original box. The box is stamped "CORVETTE CONV. 1736 SILVER PEARL." This is a one-owner model that was obtained new on November 5, 1965 in Lexington KY. It has never been displayed and has been stored in the original box and tissue since it left the factory. It is 100% complete and original with zero repairs or touch-ups. The paint and chrome are in factory-new condition. There is zero body warp and the clear is in 'mint' condition. I would grade this one 9.5 out of 10 with 10 flawless. The deduction is because there is a closed split (fits back perfectly) at the drivers side vent frame and the A pillar. Nothing is broken off, and the crack closes perfectly (it is invisible), so this is completely repairable; but I'll leave that to the new owner. Even includes the original factory packing paper. The box is complete with all flaps and solid but has wear as shown and age foxing.

Large scale, detailed model features movable propeller, wheels & control stick, detailed engine, removable cowling, complete cockpit, complete rigging instructions and three crew members. Very rare issue dated 1964. This is the seldom seen Aurora reissue of the Comet kit for the Canadian market only. Several small-scale Comet molds were never reissued for the USA market and for decades I have wondered what happened to them. Aurora had no need for them, as they had already cut their own (superior) small-scale molds for most of those subjects, including the B-52 and B-47. Well, the ex-Comet molds went to Aurora Canada! The small, less detailed Comet kits were issued there using the same box art as their slightly larger and more detailed Aurora counterparts in the USA. Simply looking at the box top, you could not tell the difference. However, the four digit part number gives it away as do the contents. Molded in silver and clear and still retains the original Comet 'teardrop' shaped two-piece stand. Naturally the instructions are completely unique since this is a different kit from the Aurora USA B-52. This kit is 100% correct and has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

First issue from 1956 with Jim Cox boxart and Northern Lights logo. The logo on this box top was only used for one year; in 1957 it was replaced with the famous oval 'Famous Fighters' Sunburst logo. This kit was one of a very famous line of 1/48 scale WWI aircraft kits introduced by Aurora at this time. Due to the popularity, subjects were still being released into the 1960s. Molded in glossy olive green and black. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. While the top of the box displays 'near mint,' the box is only graded 'excellent because the right short side has light but obvious sun fading.

Rare model injection molded plastic model from the late 1950s. In the mid 1950s Comet, then known for it's line of stick and tissue flying model aircraft, branched out into plastic model kits. By 1963, Comet sold all production molds to Aurora, and Aurora reissued the kits. This lead to Aurora having three different scale B-58 kits in stock - their own near 1/72 and the two from Comet. This is the larger of the two Comet issues in the two piece hardbox. it would date from the late 1950s or early 1960s. Very nicely molded and detailed for it's time. The kit has never been started. Internal factory sealed bag or inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. Please note that the box displays slightly better than 'very good++' but is rated as such because each long side has small, 1/2" x 1/2" tape tears from the factory sealing tape.

1958 release of this kit featuring classic Jo Kotula boxart. The large 1/48 scale missile comes with a fully operational scale launcher. The hardbox has 'very good' color and gloss, four solid corners, no price tag or tape tears and no torn or missing litho. Flaws include general wear and edge and corner wear as shown. The kit has never been started and is factory new inside right down to the original tissue packing paper. Aurora factory sealed the silver parts and the red missile parts; these are both still sealed. The deep blue parts were not sealed but have been inventoried 100% complete. Includes decals and instructions in 'excellent' condition. This kit must be shipped insured. The Aurora "Missile Line" is legendary. In the late 1950s, the first missile model kits sold briskly, so Aurora and Revell both planned extensive lines. However, the missile modeling craze disappeared as quickly as it started. Models that were in the works were canceled or completed if they were far enough along. Those that were completed were fine efforts but sold poorly and had very short lives, making them rare collector items today.

Features elevating missile trailer, four figures, movable fuel boom, fuel truck and trailer, launch pad/blast shield/missile supports, launcher base and more. Includes optional parts are decals for making the Thor-Able version. Molded in correct white and dark blue. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.
