Aurora French Nieuport 11, 1/48, 101-69

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc++

Sold

Very rare 2nd issue that turns up less than the first (1956) release. For a long time I did not know this issue even existed. Please note the '69' cent price extension, sunburst oval logo with 'Famous Fighters' in the border, the Parents' Magazine seal and even the 69 cent price circle at the upper right. Normally this issue is only seen with a 79 cent price extension. This would be the late 1957/early '58 issue. This kit is one of a very successful line of 1/48 WWI aircraft that Aurora launched in 1956. The line sold so well that new kits were added into the 1960s. Molded in the correct gloss olive drab green and black. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Even includes the original factory tissue packing paper. Thanks to Eugene DuBey, we know some history on the aircraft that Aurora modeled. The tail # on the kit rudder is 1354, the number of a Nie 16 that served with CAM de Dunquerke / St Pol sur Mer", 1916-17.

Monogram RB-66A Destroyer - Blue Box Issue, 1/83, PA204-130

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc++

Sold

This is the original 1967 RB-66 issue, not the reissue from the 1990s. Nicely molded kit from the original 'Four Star' molds. Features rear gun turret, cockpit with three crew, opening bomb bay and bomb. Molded in gloss silver and clear. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. When the Air Force phased out the B-66, they converted many into ECM aircraft, hence the RB-66A. Monogram seized this opportunity as a new lease on life for the B-66 molds and the result was this issue as RB-66 aircraft were being used in Vietnam in the late 1960s.
