This model measures 12 inches long (LOA) and features highly detailed, full-size plans with general instructions and detailed rigging information, text instruction steps, excellent pre-carved hull, quality printwood, superstructure blocks, hardwood mast and gun barrel stock, sandpaper and a full color insignia sheet. The kit has never been started and is complete with all parts and plans in excellent condition.

Sold new on August 20, 1982 from Tower Hobbies Very large wingspan kit that looks much like the Curtiss Robin but is in fact not; it's just similar, hence the name 'Robinhood.' Designed for R/C and .25 size gasoline engines (if you know how and have the hardware, it can be converted to electric power. Features die-cut balsa parts, die-cut plywood parts, die-cut clear windows, pre-formed wire landing gear, Dave Brown motor mount, nylon wing hold-down pin, nylon tail skid, ailerons and much more. Includes full size plans and a heavily illustrated 24 page instruction booklet. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes 'Robinhood' stickers and instructions. Please NOTE: this kit comes in a very sturdy box which is how it was originally shipped. Unless you otherwise specify, I will wrap it in brown paper and ship it this way. SALE!! Includes both kits, #3776-40 and 3764-40 which include four models total. These are hardbox issues from the late 1950s. Each box includes two nicely done, small scale model. Never started. Some are factory sealed; the others have been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. The ITC (Ideal Toy Company) Precision Miniatures was a lower priced line to complement the much larger ITC model issues. The first issue came in hardboxes (like this one) and ITC planned 7 series with a projected 6 models in each series. The series were Aircraft Through the Years, Historical Ships, Locomotives Through The Years, Antique Cars, Ships For Work and Fun, Landmarks in Transportation and Sports Cars. There were 6 aircraft in the 'Aircraft' series- Spirit of St. Louis, Wright Flyer, S-55, Spad 13, P-86 and P-51 Mustang. All were very close to 1/100 scale.

Large wingspan flying model can be powered by rubber, electric or made R/C with the modern tiny and lightweight servos and receivers. Features traditional wood/tissue construction, detailed full size plans and building instructions, quality die-cut printwood, spars, stripwood, fully formed and finished wheels, wire stock, thrust button, metal prop shaft, plastic prop, tissue, rubber motor and color insignia. The model has not been started and has been inventoried 100% complete. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.
