Monogram SSN Skipjack Submarine SSN585, 1/228, 3101

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

When Monogram acquired the Aurora molds, they only reissued the most accurate kits and usually did heavy mold modifications to bring them up to Monogram standards. In this case, the hull halves were detailed with fine, realistic panel lines and other details; the sail had any unrealistic detail removed as well as the raised outline for the numbers and where Aurora had only one periscope/sensor on the sail, Monogram correctly added two more for a total of three. It also features moving diving planes on the hull & conning tower, removable hatch revealing bulkheads and reactor detail and more. Includes a display stand. Never started. It has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

The Hawk P-36A has the dubious distinction of fighting on both sides and for more countries than any other plane in history during the opening years of WWII. This Hawk, one in a long progression of famous fighter aircraft, was the winner of a 1935 competition. The USAA Corps received the first aircraft in April of 1938 and the French ordered 100 aircraft in May of the same year. French Hawks shot down just over 30 German planes during the battle for France. The Germans captured the aircraft and sold them to Finland. Others were captured when the Germans overran Norway. In all over 800 Hawks were produced and served in China, Netherlands East Indies, Portugal, Great Britain, Thailand, Argentina and Peru. Although an excellent fighter in 1935, the Hawk was outclassed by the time the war started but when flown properly still gave a good account of itself.

Monogram TWO A1-E Skyraider (A-1E) - Bagged LOT 2, 1/72, PA146

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: No Box

Sold

Includes TWO bagged kits - no box. The box is shown for reference only. These models came from the collection of one of Monogram's finest and talented Chief Designers, the man who created the original B-52 kit, B-17, B-24J, P-36A, P-39 Airacobra, P-61 Black Widow, DH Mosquito, at least one if not all of the 1/8 scale Ford cars, A-1E Skyraider and numerous other famous kits. SALE!! Includes two kits in the one box shown. Model #1 has never been started and inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and one set of instructions present. Model #2 has been inventoried and there is no assembly but NOTE: some very small parts have been painted and it is missing one tiny antenna. The designer put in an additional crew member for each kit; this is because the A-1E is a two-seat aircraft but Monogram only put one pilot in with the kit. Obviously he was not happy about that! he also included some small 1/72 scale bombs since Monogram did not include those either. There is an extra canopy as well. These kits feature cockpit, crew, drop tanks, rotating wheels and propeller, plenty of wing pylons for additional weapons and more.

This model is a domestic Japan market issue by Hasegawa-Frog. The parts were molded in England while the decals, box and instructions were all made in Japan.
