1960 issue of this rare Neptune variant in the rare 'Famous Artist Series.' The great Jack Leynnwood painted 'Polar Mission' for Revell. This and some of the other artwork from the 'Famous Artist Series' are among the finest painting to ever grace a model kit box top. Inside, this is the classic 1950s 'S' kit with regular landing gear or ski landing gear and decals for Arctic service. Molded in a stunning gloss dark blue and clear. The kit has never been started. Rare and from the early 1950s. Strombecker was famous for this line of completely precarved kits and this one one of the flagship models. Features quality hardwood parts that are fully factory carved in all three dimensions and needed only final sanding to finish, smaller detail parts, four plastic propellers, fully formed wheels, original sealed Casein Company wood filler and CASCO glue envelopes, huge plans with detailed instructions, very large, colorful and comprehensive decal sheet and a great B-24 booklet. The kit has never been started. Inventoried and NOTE: missing the lead weight and and (1) of (2) nose gear doors. Otherwise complete with all other parts, decals and paperwork present. Please note that the box is only 'fair++' due to corner wear, significant general wear, creases, etc. The box is complete and has four solid corners but is not collectible.
