First issue hardbox in amazing, investment-grade 'Near Mint+' condition. Dated 1968. This model is one of Aurora's excellent later efforts. They knew that the old 1950s molds were outclassed, so they cut a new series of molds including several ships and helicopters. They were of much higher quality, and this is one of those kits. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present.

The famous and beautiful gull-winged SR-9 was the 1937 version of the SR series which began in 1933 and continued in production until 1941. The aircraft was popular and saw use as personal transports and executive planes. Five passenger could be seated in deluxe accommodations. The military used 45 privately owned SRs during WWII. Today this aircraft is very valuable and sought after by collectors and restorers. Nicely detailed with full interior, positionable pilot, optional position door and detailed engine. Never started. Still factory sealed but the seal has some splits. Nicely molded and rare kit from about 1982 that features a one-piece body, complete interior with police radio, antenna, shot gun & holder and pistol, clear police flashers and tail lights lenses. The kit is engineered to be motorized and usually includes the electric motor, gears and all hardware (I cannot confirm that since it is still factory sealed). The motor is located over the back axle with the battery behind it (where the trunk would be). The kit is usually molded in blue (body), clear, chrome and black. Includes full decals (including stripes) for NY City Police Department Car 1468.

The instructions have water stains as does the box also, hence the box grade of only 'fair.'

19 inches LOA (length overall) and 17 inches high when assembled. Constructo kits are the finest of all the older prefabricated wooden ship kits. Features a completely shaped and sanded hull with predrilled mast and stand pedestal holes, finished wood display stand, turned and painted stand pedestals, four large sheets of heavy cardboard displaying over 100 wooden parts that are completely cut, finished, numbered and held on with string, another sheet with completely sewn and finished cloth sails, flags and much more, a box with well over 100 injection molded fittings, another box holding all needed paint colors, instruction sheet in English and a full size plan sheet with many views, complete part identifications by number and excellent rigging diagrams. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes full size plans and instructions. Constructo kits were made in Spain and early issues in the USA were marketed by Constructo Nautical Miniatures, Inc, New York 1. There were many series of kits, all issued by size; some smaller and some larger than this kit.

Well detailed, large 1/16 scale kit from 1949. Features plastic wheels, grill, steering wheel, lights and other accessories, wooden and metal main parts and some die-cut cardstock parts as well. Although all of Hudson's 1/16 kits have excellent detail, this one has even more detail than usual thanks to Hudson's engineers having access to the actual car. The instructions even warn that this kit will take more time than usual due to the 'tedious detail.' This kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts, plans and instructions. Hudson Miniatures created a very popular line of automobile kits in a constant 1/16 scale shortly after WWII. The kits sold very well...so well that you could argue that Gowland & Gowland borrowed Hudson's subject matter for their ground-breaking 'Highway Pioneers.' The Hudson Miniatures 'Old Timers' even spawned a line of imitators, with Fador's 'Smallster' being one of the better in quality. Sales did drop on the appearance and popularity of the much smaller (and less accurate) Gowland/Revell 'Highway Pioneers' in 1951. When the all-injection molded Gowland kits proved not to be a passing fad, Hudson quickly planned and released his own all-plastic, small-scale competition called 'Lil' Old Timers Quickie Kits.' The kits were of excellent quality, but it was too little too late. Additionally, sales of the excellent wooden kits faltered further in the next few years with the introduction of accurate, 1/24 and 1/32 all-plastic cars in the mid 1950s. This forced Hudson to discontinue the wood kits and the plastic line was sold to Revell and subsequently re-released. Today, these excellent, big 1/16 kits are often the only model available of these early automobiles. In the mid 1960s Aurora thought so highly of Hudson Miniatures that they purchased the wood kit assets and released a very small number of these in all-plastic models.
