Many companies tried to produce fully prefabricated flying model kits that would really fly. Of all these attempts, only Top Flite succeeded with the late 1950s 'JIGTIME' flying rubber free-flight model series. The Jigtime series were highly prefabricated 3D (not profile), all balsa models with no tissue. The tissue, rib and spar method was eliminated and it is built off of central jigs with all parts factory pre-painted with a colorful design. Includes 3D fuselage with die-cut sides, top & bottom all finished in color with insignia, panel lines and even rivets, completely finished wings with the correct dihedral and camber, finished tail feathers, clear plastic canopy, hardware, fully carved nose (that is also the thrust button), fully formed wire landing gear struts, finished wheels, plastic propeller, rubber motor and full instructions. Can be flown rubber free flight or Jetex free flight. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions.

SALE!! Still factory sealed. From the 1960s. Large scale, well detailed model that can be flown rubber free flight, gas free flight or converted to electric RC using modern small and light equipment. Well detailed with scale plastic wheels, plastic propeller, vacuform engine cowl and spinner, full color decals, colored tissue, die cut balsa parts, rubber motor, plywood firewall and excellent full size plans. Guillow's founder, Paul K. Guillow, was a WWI naval aviator. In 1926 he began producing wooden model airplane kits. His 'Shelf Models' were some of the earlier non-flying models in production. Guillow's grew during the model boom of the 1930s, and when the Depression hit the hardest, Guillow's responded with lower prices and became one of the low price leaders, frequently advertising in Model Airplane News and other leading publications. During the war, like most manufacturers, Guillow's was forced to alternative materials such as cardboard and pine. Guillow's survived the post WWII slump by creating many inexpensive profile flying rubber powered aircraft and gliders in the 1950s (along with North Pacific) which became famous - some are still available today. The stick and tissue lines have been updated with laser cut parts and are still in production as of 2009.

Very nice model of this unusual 1930s American Observation aircraft. The O-47 was one of the few American aircraft in operation in the Philippines Combat Zone during the invasion of 1942. Out of production. Dr. Zooch was famous for making very good looking flying rockets that didn't cost and arm and a leg while still covering fascinating subjects that no other manufacture dared to do. The Saturn 1 is what he called 'Ant Scale' which means it is roughly 9 or 10 inches tall. Very nicely detailed for that size and a very complete model kit. Never started.
