There is a chip of plastic approximately 1cm x .5cm missing off one fuselage. Otherwise the kit includes all other parts, decals and instructions as well as the unique clear ice blue ITC stand. This unique aircraft was a joint development by the Army and Air Force as a rescue and recon plane. It took off vertically as a helicopter and flew at 200 mph. 1/54 Solido
![]() Nord Griffon II - Bagged Kit - No Box No Box Injection Molded old
| Bagged kit - Box is not included and is shown for reference only. Very rare kit of the unusual Mach 2+ ramjet/turbojet design. Solido produced a small line of plastic kits in the early 1960s but by 1967 all production ended. Very cleanly molded and large 1/54 scale kit in sliver, black, clear and red plastic. Decals and instructions are excellent. NOTE: the kit has minor assembly. The two engine 1/2s have been neatly assembled. Quality of assembly is excellent with no gaps and no glue showing. There is no other assembly. The kit is missing the stand and red missile - otherwise it is complete with all other parts, decals and instructions. Shipping insurance is required with this kit. The Griffon was duel propulsion like the Leduc 022; a turbojet was used for takeoff and got the airplane to speed, where the ramjet took over. The Griffon performed well, reaching a top speed of Mach 2.19 in 1958. However, there were difficulties with the ramjet design. The program was canceled in favor of the Mirage family of fighters by Dassault. | |||
1/72 #6610 Aurora-Heller
![]() Yakovlev Yak-3 (Yak-III) - Two USSR Aircraft - Normandie-Niemen French Squadron - Aurora Heller Issue Sealed NM Injection Molded old
| Still factory sealed. The Normandie-Niemen French Squadron was made up of French pilots who flew on the Eastern Front. Very nicely molded with recessed control surfaces and fine raised panel lines. Unusual Aurora-Heller kit. One of Aurora's last efforts was to market quality Heller kits with the "Aurora-Heller" name. It was a good fit - Heller made quality kits but did not have the extreme marketing reach that Aurora had in North America. The kits could obviously be produced without a significant capital expense for Aurora since Heller had already cut the molds. Heller molded the kits in France, shipped them to the USA, and Aurora added instructions and a box. Although this was a good idea, Aurora's problems went much deeper and it certainly was not enough to save the company. | |||

1/32 #H46-89 Revell
![]() 1911 Rolls Royce - Highway Pioneers VG+ Injection Molded old
| 1953 issue, the first year for the 'Series Three' Highway Pioneers. The box is excellent, and the inside has never been started. It is still factory sealed in the 'krinkle' bag. Complete with instructions. Molded in deep burgundy plastic. Before the 1950s 'model building' as a hobby did not even make the top 10 list of boy’s activities. Hobbies were nothing new to America in the 1930s/40s, but they were not mainstream. Shortly after the turn of the century, many dedicated modelers built flying or static airplanes, ship, train, automotive or other subjects. Basic kits existed, but the majority of these models were built from scratch, which demanded a high talent level developed from years of experience. That changed in the early 1950s. The phenomenon of the Revell/Gowland & Gowland ‘Highway Pioneers’ car kits was a significant mover in proving that model building as a hobby could have mass appeal, provided that the kits were easy enough to build and finish. They could be built in an hour after dinner and looked like the real car. The 'Highway Pioneers' series helped lead to the production of other subjects in plastic. The effect was revolutionary. By the early 1960s, 'model building' was the # 1 past time of American boys. | |||
1/72 #4904 Air Lines
![]() Miles Master Trainer Exc+ Injection Molded old
| Very finely molded in silver. Features separately molded ailerons, elevators and rudder. This kit has never been started. It is either still in the internally sealed factory bag or has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Box art is by the famous Jo Kotula who did 1930s covers for the magazine 'Model Airplane News' and later the Aurora box art of the late 1950s. Air Lines kits are all Frog molds that the Lines Brothers imported to the USA between 1964-1966. The kits, decals and instructions were made in England, then imported to the USA where Testors created the boxes with the colorful trading cards on the back. There are one or two trading cards on each box which show the boxart but not the advertising/logo. Some kits contain a Testors color painting guide also, but it is not specific to any model. | |||
