P-1s saw service with the Aufklarungsgruppen till 1943 over France, Norway, Russia and the Western Desert as Do-17 P-1/Trop. The decals are for 3.(F)/Nacht in Russia from December of 1943. | The SR.177 was a further development of the SR.53. The SR177 combined rocket with turbine power. The 177 had a jet engine of significantly more power than the 53, so it could cruise without use of the rocket motor. The interceptor was to be armed with two Firestreak missiles. Although British air policy changed, the work continued due to German interest in the project. However, the program was dropped when Germany went with the Lockheed F-104 Starfighter. Highly detailed vac kit with better mold quality than most injection molded kits. Includes cast metal details and decals. Never started. | Very early rare Hawk kit. Hawk was active in manufacturing wooden kits in the 1920s and wooden kits with some injection molded details in the late 1930s before all-injection molded kits came around. Two of Hawks early plastic kits were the F9F and F-90 in the flip top box. Oddly, the kits are more famous for the fact that Aurora purchased the F9F and F-90 models and back engineered them to create their first two plastic kits molds. Correctly molded in a beautiful medium blue with clear stand, stand arm, nose probe and canopy and olive drab pilot. Never started. | Fantastic artwork on an early hardbox from 1943 to 1949. Fred Megow was famous for his lines of semi-prefabricated kits solid kits and stick and tissue models from the late 1920s till 1949. Megow also produced scale operating train and trackside kits, ship models (large and small) and automotive subjects. Solid wood scale model with profile carved fuselage, wings, elevator and rudder, plastic propeller, pre-carved wheels, heavy die-cut cardstock details, carved wooden wheels, full size plans, full color markings and glass bottles of paint and glue.
