Rare original issue from the 1950s - not the 2013 reissue. This large model has 155 parts and many action features. This reproduction of the six-wheel drive 5 ton Wrecker was designed straight from US Army Blueprints and data from the US Army Ordnance Corps. The kit incorporates nearly all the movable features of the actual equipment. The front wheels steer realistically, the hood opens to show the highly detailed engine, the windshield is collapsible and the doors of the cab can be opened and closed. The cab can be enclosed with a simulated canvas top. The rear train provides realistic suspension over irregular surfaces. The crane is completely operable and can hoist actual objects. The winch can be used realistically to pull other models. The jacks can be extended and lowered to support the truck. Additional sheave blocks are provided for hoisting and pulling operations. All four functions of the crane - lifting or lowering the shipper, extending or retracting the boom, winding or unwinding the hoist drum and swinging the boom to the left or right - can be realistically simulated. There has been no assembly. The parts that were factory sealed are still in the factory sealed clear bags. The parts that were never factory sealed have been inventoried complete and include decals and instructions.

From 1977 with John Steel box art. An excellent kit with simplified assembly; a slightly easier build than Revell's kit of the same size. The scale is not mentioned but this one measures just over 16 inches long when assembled. I estimate that it has been 75 to 100 parts. Features finely engraved one piece hull, detailed deck with all fittings, one-piece masts and yards, molded ratlines, superb vacuform sails (some of the best I have seen), rigging thread, rigging instructions, display stand and decals. Molded in black, wood tan and the sails in ivory vacuform plastic. The kit has never been started. Inventoried complete including decals and instructions.

Rare. This is the 1967 hardbox issue of this very hard-to-find model with fantastic box artwork. CV-6 has a combat record unequaled in history of the US Navy and is considered the most 'Successful Warship in History.' Her totals were as follows: 20 Battle Stars, 911 Aircraft Destroyed and 71 Ships Sunk. She took part in almost every major action of the Pacific war from 1941 to 1945. The fascinating history of this ship is told by Commander Edward P. Stafford, USN, in his legendary book "The Big E - The Story of the USS Enterprise." The kit is over 20 inches long and includes a one-piece full hull, complete propeller and rudder detail, SBD scout-bombers, moving cranes, separately molded AA guns, correct changes to deck gun galleries and island structure for an accurate Big E and much more. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts present and includes decals for the ship and aircraft, flags and instructions. Please note that the box displays better than the 'good-' grade but is rated as such because there is a closed tear at the upper top of the island structure.

Still factory 'round tape' sealed with the special Thunder Tiger tape. This is a high quality, heavily prefabricated model featuring a sturdy 1.5mm thick ABS hull structure that is pre-built at the factory. Access to the radio compartment for installation and maintenance is quick and easy. This zone is waterproof and includes protective balloons for the receiver and battery pack. Pushrod exits are also waterproof. The white white hull and superstructure dresses up nicely with the colorful decal sheet provided, so no painting is needed. Never started. Everything inside is exactly as it left the factory. The smaller part that were factory sealed are still sealed. The larger parts were never sealed and have been inventoried complete. Includes all paperwork. This beautiful almost ready to run boat does not include engine and radio equipment; you must supply those. NOTE: this kit came in a very sturdy and thick cardboard box. It will ship in that box wrapped in thick brown paper. A truly spectacular model for that time and ideal for R/C conversion. This is the 1961 early issue with John Steel box artwork. Aurora pulled out all the stops on this very large kit with incredibly high tooling costs to match. The result is an excellent model that is well-designed for actual operation in water. As a bonus, the first issue only had the flight deck pre-painted with black background and white lines (as per the box art) and the factory paint is in 'excellent+ condition. The kit is over 33 inches long when assembled and is intended to be motorized. This kit features four (5 bladed) propellers in a durable & flexible nylon type plastic, stuffing boxes with grease filling holes, metal gearbox and nylon-like gears, brass or bronze propeller shaft tubes, dual operational rudders, a very large sheet color decals for the ship and airwing, moving elevators, twin Sea Sparrow launchers, gold plated display stand, detailed island structure with clear windows and all sensors, a large airwing with 40 aircraft including F-4 Phantom, F-8 Crusader, A-4 Skyhawk and two Hup Helicopters and more. The kit has never been started. All of the small parts are still in the factory sealed internal bags. The stand, aircraft and hardware bags were torn, so I inventoried all those parts and they are complete. Includes all decals and instructions. Aurora sold the motorizing parts separately and they are not included. In case you are curious, the 'sold separately' parts are two steel ballast weights, four brass battery clips and 4 battery contacts, wire, two electric motors and small nuts and bolts. All other hardware, gear boxes, motor mounts, worm gears, stuffing boxes, metal shafts and tubes, battery box etc are included with this 'standard' kit.

Also includes figures of the pilot, gunner, armorer, LSO (landing signal officer), 4 bombs, bomb cart and LSO wind screen. Molded in a beautiful gloss dark blue, black and clear.
