1/1200 #5-A H. A. Framburg & Co.
![]() US Navy 1943 British Royal Navy Metal Ship Recognition Model Set With Case - 1/1200 Scale Exc Metal old
| Rare. During WWI, navies and air forces used 'flash cards' with silhouettes for recognition of enemy and friendly forces. With the increased speeds in in WWII, almost all armed forces realized that recognition models were needed. This way, subjects could be studied from all angles. This set was made for the US Navy around December of 1943 by H.A. Framburg & Company of Chicago Il. It has the original wooden carrying/display case and includes all 29 British ships. Each ship is attached to a blue painted wooden base which slides in and out of the case. Stamped under each ships base is the type of ship, ship or class name, and the date 12-43. All 29 ships are nicely detailed and 100% original. The ships and the case have not been repainted, modified or repaired. Paint condition ranges from as excellent to average, with a few destroyers showing signs of metal aging, which causes the paint to flake off. Structurally, most ships are in 'excellent+++' condition. They are one piece cast metal hull and superstructures with separately molded turrets, cranes, and with a piece of wire stuck in a hole for the masts. No turrets are missing. As you can imagine, the wire mast is the first to go missing. The follow ships are missing the mainmast - Tyne, Furious, Tribal, Emerald, Hawkings, Cumberland, Malaya and River class. Queen Elizabeth, Illustrious and Warspite are missing one (of two) crane arm and Royal Sovereign is missing a tip of a gun barrel. There are no other missing parts, and the masts can be replaced with the correct diameter wire. This set is heavy. It will be very carefully packed and must be shipped insured. | |||

Complete engine includes crankcase, cylinders, pushrods housings, propeller hub, accessory section, carburetor and fuel system, vinyl wires for the distributor blocks and dual ignition system and more. A name plate label is included with a Pratt & Whitney logo decal. A scale engine mount is furnished with the kit. The kit has never been started. Internal factory sealed bag including decals and instructions. This engine was P&Ws first aircraft engine and the original purchaser was the US Navy in 1926. The Wasp went on to find world-wide fame in over 50 aircraft. The Boeing 247, P-12, F4B-4, Curtiss F6C-4 Hawk, F8C-5 Helldiver, Douglas Dolphin, Ford Trimotor (some versions), Gee Bee racers, Lockheed Orion, Sirius, Vega, Sikorsky S-38 are just a few. 1/64 #280-39 Aurora
![]() Piper Apache Exc++ Injection Molded old
| 1963 issue and still the only injection molded Apache kit. From ex-Comet molds. Features all recessed panel lines, clear windows, rotating propellers and color decals. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Aurora had started a line of inexpensive 29 cent kits in about 1957. The line was a success, and it was expanded. The line grew again when Aurora purchased the Comet molds, as most of Comet's line was very small scale kits, many of them civil aircraft like this one. It appears that Aurora was encouraged by the sale of the ex-Comet civil aircraft, as it expanded the line with it's own molds in the early 1960s. | |||
