| Rare first issue with the 1.25 inch high pre-'S' hardbox vs. the later standard size 1.4 inch box. This kit has the correct short-lived 1st issue 2 piece stand as opposed to the later standard 4 piece stand. The early stand with this kit has a base and an arm - the arm has three prongs. This stand was discontinued shortly after introduction as it broke very easily. Inside, the kit is mint. The small parts still sealed in factory cello bag. Never started. | 1962 issue with John Steel box art. Well detailed, large scale model measures 15.75 inches long when assembled. Includes Master Modelers Stamp for the USS Aaron Ward. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals, flags and instructions. The Aaron Ward served as a station ship during the first trans-Atlantic flights of NC-1, NC-3 and NC-4 in 1919. During that time she was commanded by the famous Commander R.A. Spruance (later Admiral) of Midway fame. After that she served in the Pacific Fleet. In 1940 she became part of the famous Lend-Lease arrangement and was renamed HMS Castleton and saw heavy duty as a convoy escort in the North Atlantic till 1944. | |||

![]() Harbor Tug Taurus / Gowanus / Los Angeles (ex-Long Beach) - Young Model Builders Club Issue Exc Injection Molded old | |||
| 1973 YMBC issue still in the heavy cardboard shipping box. This kit is a reissue of the famous 'S' Long Beach tug. Includes decals for all three tug boats. This large scale (1/108) kit features excellent detail and the crew members. The Long Beach, of which Taurus is listed as one of her class, was built in Decatur, Alabama in 1943 and was one of a fleet of tugs operated by the Wilmington Transportation Company. She had a registered length of 81.1 feet and a beam of 24 feet. Gross tonnage was 146 inches and she drew 8 feet of water. Powered by a 700 hp diesel, the range was just over 3,500 miles. The kit has never been started. Inventoried complete with all parts, decals and instructions. NOTE: one part, the rudder brace, is a different color. It is from an earlier issue of this kit. | |||

![]() Merchant Fleet Gift Set 'S' Kit - C3 Freighter 'Hawaiian Pilot' - Standard Oil of California T-2 Tanker 'J.L. Hanna' - Harbor Tug ' Long Beach' - with Glue / Paint / Brush Good++ Injection Molded old | |||
| Rare 1956 Revell Gift set containing all three ships. This was the first and only issue of this specific gift set and features spectacular special box artwork. The tugboat is 1/108 scale and the tanker and cargo ship are both 1/400. Inside, the kit is correct. The special color cardboard over lay is factory fresh. The tug and C-3 hulls are factory painted red (the T-2 was molded in red so it was not painted). Decals are included. The instruction sheets are excellent. The three kits have not been started, and all most small parts are still in the factory bags while all parts that were never factory sealed have been inventoried 100% complete. The box is complete and has four solid corners. There is no tape, tape marks, price tags or price tag marks. However, there is general wear, light stains as shown. Shipping insurance is required with this kit. | |||
